Thursday Thoughts {4/21/16}

Yo, everybody, what is up?! Without social media, and having not blogged or read blogs for awhile, I seriously feel like I have been so out of the loop. I also have no idea what is going on in the news, no idea what the celebrities are doing, and no idea what you are all up to. So please fill me in!

It’s been awhile since I shared what’s on my mind & heart, so let’s dive into Thursday Thoughts, shall we?

Thursday Thoughts {4/21/16}

My niece’s birthday would be today.

My little niece died 3 years ago today, and so that is in the forefront of my mind on this beautiful spring day. She is a precious soul who returned to her Heavenly Father so quickly. I wish I could’ve known her better, and I absolutely look forward to the day I meet her in heaven. She has incredible parents & siblings, and I know she is watching over them too.

Death is hard. I know that our Savior lives and that He overcame death for all of us. His taking that sting out of death is a HUGE gift I appreciate every day, but the actual separation from our loved ones because of death is really, really hard. For anyone struggling during this mourning season in their lives, I hope you feel the hope in His promise, and the prayers of those who love you.

{p.s. My sister, the mother of my niece, Eve, wrote a beautiful post about death, and I highly encourage anyone who is mourning to read her beautiful words. <3 }

A car trip with kids is always an adventure.

We went on a road trip as a little family to the bay area of California a week ago and it was all sorts of fun! I loved being out and about as a little family, and it was so fun to meet some uncle/aunt/cousins I haven’t met before.

Our girls did wonderful in the car for the most part, but there were some intense moments that made us all second guess a car trip. Hah! The best (lol) was when we pulled into the hotel parking lot at like 9 p.m., and the girls, who had been sleeping peacefully in their carseats, awoke with a start and started screaming. They literally didn’t settle down for at least an hour. And then were up the next morning at 5:30 a.m. A ROUGH start, let me tell you!

Luckily that was the worst of it (besides a diarrhea diaper explosion on the return trip 10 minutes from our home), and we got to see a lot of beautiful sights and introduce the ocean to our kids!

Taking my fitness to the next level.

I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s something I’ve been working on lately, and it’s the coolest to see and feel myself get stronger. I can totally do pushups better and a bit faster (but I still have further to go with my goal), I can jump higher, and I can do each set of HIIT that I practice for longer. I have put in the work, I love it, and I embrace the results. Boom!

With the right type of workout and motivation, anyone can improve their fitness ability.

Spring!

It seems like it’s finally going to stay warmer now here in UT, and I couldn’t be more stoked about it! The buds are a poppin’ on all our trees, the grass is greener, the sky is bluer, and everyone seems to be in a better mood. Bring.it.on!

About a week ago I was seriously going stir crazy with the windy, rain, and cloudy weather. It’s way more fun to have kids and a backyard when it’s nice outside. Duh, right?! hah. :)

Projects

I have so many things I am doing right now and want to get done in the near future, and I’m slowly chopping away at it all. Slowly is the key word here. 😉

I want to finish hanging a few more things in our home, rearrange some pieces we’ve already hung, work on painting a door or two, repaint our tables & chairs, organize the garage, finish our 2015 photo book, shop for summer clothes for the kids, donate all the things we’ve cleaned out, and read a few books I’ve received from the library. Oh and be a wife, mom, sister, friend, & fitness instructor somewhere in there.

See? Now you understand why I have no time for social media!

Baby life.

My little (almost 8-month old) baby is crawling & has her first tooth! It’s so fun to watch all these milestones happen, and to see her explore and enjoy life. Time is flying by so fast, yikes!

What is something on your mind today?!

    I’ve missed you!! I spent six years of my childhood growing up in the Bay Area! Things here are good! Lots of time loving on the new peanut and watching Kay grow up!

  2. In an effort to catch you up on (sad) celebrity news, Doris Roberts (the grandma on Everybody Loves Raymond) passed away on Sunday and Prince died today. :(

    Yay for the whole family going to the Bay and seeing the ocean! Rock star travelers making that trek :) I’ve missed your updates, but hope you’re enjoying your social hiatus, it can be so good!
