Quick and Easy Breakfast Ideas

Quick and Easy Breakfast Ideas

Last week I posted about some of the healthy habits I’m failing at, and one of them is eating breakfast right away. I tend to care for Lily’s needs first, and usually that means my needs fall to the wayside and my breakfast is either nonexistent or scarily resembles dessert from two days before….

I’ve compiled a few ideas & recipes to share that are quick and easy, so for myself and any of you who are working on this habit, let’s succeed together!

Kodiak Cakes’ Granola Unleashed

As a Kodiak Cakes’ blog ambassador, I was sent the Granola Unleashed in 3 different flavors to try. I was totally stoked to try ’em because I looveeeeee granola (as long as there are no raisins in it, yuck), and they come in convenient single serving cups where all you need to do is add milk. Quick and EASY: exactly what this mama needs!

I’m happy to report that every flavor is FULL of flavor, and exceeded my expectations for a crunchy, mildly sweet (but not overly sweet) granola.

My favorite flavor is Vermont Maple Pecan. Mmmmmm!

Having convenient breakfast cups of food on hand is crazy amazing, and I feel grateful for the help!

Kodiak Cakes’ Oatmeal Unleashed

I was also sent their new Oatmeal Unleashed in 3 different flavors, and I was curious to see how I’d like ’em. I’m not a huge oatmeal person to begin with (I have no idea why!), and it’s just not my favorite go-to breakfast. But, I’m willing to try anything that is easy to prepare (hello, all you need to do is add water!).

The really complex flavors of the Oatmeal Unleashed cups, the convenience, and the ease of preparing the food won me over in the end.

Green Apple Spice, the flavor I was most resistant to try (because it sort of sounded funny as an oatmeal), is my favorite flavor! Funny how that happens? I think it’s because it’s not overly sweet and is really satisfying.

Anyways, these two products have helped me so much in sticking to eating FIRST thing so I’m not starving once Lily is fed & cleaned up.

  10. I make egg muffins on Sunday and then heat them up each morning. I cut up a few small cubes of pepperjack cheese, then add a few cut up pieces of peppers and onions to 12 muffin tins. I beat a dozen eggs and divide between the cups. Bake at 425 for 23 minutes and you have a nutritious breakfast that only takes 1:30 to heat up every morning. It is marvelous!

i love breakfast! my preferred breakfast is a hot, savory one but lately i’ve been short on time so i’m just blending up a smoothie with greens, bananas, flax and whatever else i can throw in there. it’s so thick and filling that i can be satisfied for about 4 hours. i used to dislike smoothies because i’d feel hungry right after, and love a savory taste first thing, but now that i’m putting in more substantial things like flax and dried fruits, there is a lot of good density in there. happy!
