Friday Confessions {21}

Hiiii everyone!

A very happy FRIDAY to us!!! :)

Today is a day where I just share some things that have been going on, what’s on my mind, and other rambling-type confessions. Feel free to join in in the comments!

Friday Confessions {21}

1. My baby likes veggies!

She still has only eaten vegetables so far, but she’s downing them. I am so glad she likes them plain (I only give her them mixed with breast milk, as well as putting pieces of the vegetable in front of her on her tray). Doing a mix of spoon feeding and baby-led weaning has worked out great because she likes to put things in her mouth, but I also know she’s getting in a good amount too with the spoon.

She’s also had some sips of water & loves it!

Next week will probably include fruits and some (organic) plain yogurt. I am excited for her to try those. :)

2. Jared doesn’t like to kiss me when I wear lip gloss because it makes his lips sticky.

Anyone else have this problem?!?!

friday confessions

We went out for a little bit the other night, and he refused to kiss me full-on the lips once he knew I was wearing sticky lip gloss.

He’s the best, and yet can be so silly too. 😉

3. Oh do I love kiwi!

I love that fruit! It’s one of my favorites.

And yet I often don’t buy them because they’re sort of a pain to peel (I know, I know). And now that they’re going out of season, I am more than a little sad.

{and of course I love Zevia, sour cream & onion chips, and paninis. always always}

4. I shared this on Instagram, but I got whacked in the leg by my CXWORX tube while teaching the other day.

See those red welts on my left leg?

It was 1) really early in the morning 2) I was tired 3) I was focused on my class’s form….and the tube slowly inched off my foot without my realizing it, and BAMM. It was such a shock and quite the sting!

Luckily it doesn’t hurt anymore. Battle wounds make me feel tough though. haha!

5. For our anniversary, Jared bought me some flowers for our flower box!

He did this last year too, and I loved this little activity once again. He took baby L and I to the outdoor flower shop and we picked out some flowers as a family.

6. We have quite the date planned for this weekend….

We are planning on dropping off baby L with my mother-in-law, and then we’ll head to a nice dinner (we have gift cards). And then after that….the night is open and free to do what we want! And then…sleeping all night long and into the morning…

…because baby L isn’t staying the night with us!

EEEEEK! She’s going to be with my mother-in-law for the night (with lots of blankets, clothes, breast milk, and binkies), and I’m so totally excited, yet slightly nervous all at the same time.

Buttttt we are really looking forward to a nice night of sleeeeeeeeeep! :)

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!! <3

What foods do YOUR babies love??! What lip gloss do you love?? <–does your sig other have an issue with kissing you when wearing it?? Any tips on how to survive a night without YOUR baby??!? 😉

  1. my baby loves milk! haha itz good since that’s his only option right now! 😉 i’m not a fan of lip gloss because i feel like it dries my lips out and doesn’t give me a lot of color which i feel like i need, just shine. i’ve turned into a lipstick girl instead :)

  3. My husband dislikes it when I kiss him with anything on my lips, especially anything with color to it. Slather on that lip gloss and have such a fun time on your date this weekend!! 😉

  4. Enjoy the night!! Its soooo hard to leave them but so good for you!!

  5. Do you peel them with a vegetable peeler? And I eat a loooot bring a New Zealander. I find that the easiest way but most people here just halve them and scoop with a teaspoon. Sliced looks funny to me :)

    • Yep! I peel ’em with the veggie peeler. You can actually get more out of the fruit by doing it the way I’ve plated it :) I used to do the cut in half and eat with a spoon scooping the flesh out, but I never got allllll the good stuff I wanted 😉

  8. I rarely wear lipstick or lipgloss these days because my husband refuses to kiss me with it on because he hates the sticky feeling! We even argued over whether I would wear lipstick on our wedding day – and I won. :)

  9. My husband also refuses to kiss me whenever I wear any lipgloss or lipstick. I get it, but it’s super annoying. I want to wear my lipstick!

  10. Sounds like a super fun time! Enjoy your special night!

  11. WOO! You are looking STRONG girl!

    This is my bday week so there is a bit of pampering going on this weekend. I can’t wait.

    I never thought about it when my daughter was little, but I’d give them some ripened avocado. It’s good to get them started on them young because most kids won’t touch them because of how they look.

  12. That’s so funny, because my husband hates lip gloss on me too. But most of all, he hates lipstick. I like to wear bright red or pink lipstick for a nice evening out, and he is not a fan! :) Have a great weekend!

  13. Hunter LOVES dairy products – cheese, yogurt, milk, you name it. He also loves almost any kind of fruit – especially bananas and any kind of berry. Vegetables are totally hit or miss. He ate sweet potatoes and butternut squash like they were going out of style when we first started solids, and now it’s hit or miss. Greens are also hit or miss, but he’s getting better! Yay! I added some spinach to his egg his morning, and he gobbled it up. Win!

    Cody is the same way with lip gloss. Ha!

    Yay for a date night and a great night of sleep! That’s so sweet of your MIL to do that! Enjoy!
