Thoughts from the Weekend

Hiiiii everyone!

Did you have a nice weekend?

We had a pretty good one….it was a bit up and down, so let’s chat about it, shall we?

Thoughts from the Weekend

I wore a lot of colors to teach my classes on Thursday night and Friday morning….

thoughts from the weekend

I like wearing bright colors!

I forgot to take a picture on Friday after my Zumba class (I know you’re so disappointed)–but I wore some bright blues, oranges, pinks, and yellows.

I loved reading all your ideas on your personal do 50% more challenges!

You guys are rockstars, did you know? You are all so inspiring as you set out to be less stressed, go to bed earlier, use less social media, and exercise a certain amount per week. Way to go! Let’s all cheer each other on during this, yah?

Baby Lily’s tooth became quite sharp on Friday.

Dang, that baby’s tooth hurts when she chomps down on my finger!

We hung out with friends Friday night (and brought our monitor since they live nearby), and it was a blast.

Buuuuuuut we stayed out late. So of course, within 30 minutes of being in bed, baby L decided she was done sleeping for a good little while.

:/

times 2

:/

By the 3rd time she got up (around 6 a.m.) and was cranky, I was so so exhausted. I literally don’t remember much about that time.

Needless to say, we all woke up sort of cranky on Saturday morning…

Baby L was NOT herself all Saturday. It rained. And she wouldn’t take a very long nap for any of her naps.

The one respite we had was when I took her to the store with me, girlfriend LOVES going to the store.

She was quiet, happy as a clam, and totally a perfect baby the whole time I was there. So I took advantage and walked up and down like every aisle, got more than what was on our list (except the MOST important item we needed : infant tylenol– doh!), and she loved the whole experience.

Baby L started getting her second tooth on Saturday.

I bet you saw that one coming! We totally gave her infant tylenol on Saturday night so we wouldn’t have a repeat like Friday night.

She only woke up the normal 2 times to eat and right back down. Hallelujah!

I realized I didn’t brush my hair once on Saturday. No not once.

#fail

or is that a #win

?

We are loving these {Saputo} Frigo cheese sticks we bought! {thank you Saputo for sending us coupons to try the cheese}

saputo frigo cheese

I love a good mozzarella cheese stick because it is a fantastic, quick, and protein-packed snack. Plus, it’s cheese. So duh! And these Frigo cheese sticks are really tasty.

But I love the colby jack sticks the most!

frigo cheese / saputo

Cheese is a good choice anytime. ;)

Plus, I loved how these bags were bigger (24 per bag)–I hate running to the store every week to stock up, so this was fabulous for my “buy more at once” brain. ;)

Baby L likes parsnips!

Her third veggie was parsnips (she’s had carrots and sweet potatoes–likes ‘em both), and Saturday we started parsnips.

Saturday I was a bit productive and finally finished some of what I’ve been meaning to finish in her room!

thoughts from the weekend thoughts from the weekend

I told you I like bright colors! :)

I don’t have an artistic bone in my body, so I procrastinate everything that has to do with crafts….but I had told myself I would get it all done by the time she’s 6 months.

Well.

Sunday she slept until 8:30 a.m. (I wish it had been 9 like she usually does…..), but we will take what we can get.

She awoke to us singing happy 1/2 birthday to her!

Yep, my little one turned 6 months old yesterday. <3

thoughts from the weekend

I love her to pieces!

At church she was tired and a bit cranky, so we did a whole lot of cuddling all 3 hours.

I actually love holding her during church–it brings me so much peace. It’s the best when she isn’t trying to avoid sleeping (when she’s so so tired) though ;)

I had some great moments with Jared–it is nice to have our evenings together!

I love having one night where we are with friends/doing something, and one night where we are home. We got the best of both worlds this weekend.

I did watch a movie while he was doing homework for part of Saturday evening–and I still can’t decide what I think.

the words

Anyone see that movie??

It was definitely a ‘thinker’ movie!

How did the weekend go by so quickly?!

And that friends, are some of my random thoughts about this weekend!

Hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my random ole’ brain. ;)

****

Now I am off to teach BP/CX and take baby L to the gym daycare for the FIRST TIME EVER!!! Ahhhhhh.

Have a GREAT day! <3

What are some of YOUR thoughts about YOUR weekend??! What are some tips for baby’s teething time??! Are YOU artistic?? Anyone see “The Words” movie–thoughts??!

  1. Not brushing your hair is most definitely a win ;) I honestly don’t remember the last time I brushed my hair, LOL! I comb it when I get out of the shower but that’s it!

  2. I’m definitely not artistic at all! And not brushing your hair? Ehh no big deal – itz a win for me these days if I get in a shower / much less brushing my hair! Haha!

  3. After this weekend, I’m realizing I like a good mix of the fun and the productive for my weekends. And I like being home. We’re so-often gone during the weekends for this wedding or that family thing, that I feel like we miss out on so much locally and don’t have time to work around the house or just get meal-prep stuff done. Not this weekend. All that and more happened, and that makes me happy :)

  4. Haha I can barely draw a stick figure…so I feel you on the lack of creativity ;-) You did a great job with it though! I hope that Lily’s first time in gym daycare goes well!

  5. Ohhh no, the good ol’ teething times. Sorry Girl. Unfortunately, it seems to be a neverending thing after those first two pop up. But, it does seem like they get used to it a little better as time goes on. For example, Hunter woke up in the middle of the night quite a bit when his first couple teeth came in, but then he didn’t wake up as much when his top two teeth came in. I think they learn how to handle the pain a little better? We use lots of teething rings, cold washcloths, snuggles, and Infant Tylenol to help. Happy 6 Months to Baby Lily! Wow, that was fast! Yay she gets to go to the gym daycare now – that’s awesome! I bet she’ll do great!

    P.S. I MISS YOU!

  6. Kay got her teeth fast and furious too- so I feel for you! Its actually better that way (IMO). Cheese sticks are fantastic. We always them in our fridge :)

  7. I’m really not artistic either so I know exactly what you mean about putting off crafty-type projects. We’ve lived in our house for nearly two years now and I still don’t have any pictures or decorations up on the kitchen or dining room walls!

  8. Teething is SO tough. And tylenol definitely helps! My little boy fell asleep on the couch for the first time this weekend. We were having a little quiet time and the next thing I know, he is passed out. It was adorable. PS I love your PINK pants for teaching!!

  9. I love wearing bright colors to work out too! I love Lily’s room!

  10. I wish I had more space to be artistic, but I live in a tiny city apartment in San Francisco and I’ve done all I can do with it for now. It will be fun to decorate a nursery one day when I live in a house. Happy Monday!
