So I have some news…..
I’ve got a race coming up….in October. And it’s a trail race! And it’s in the mountains of Utah…
It’s the one and only : The North Face Endurance Challenge
I am excited, nervous, happy, and elated that I get to do a trail race. I’ve run plenty of races but never a trail race, so this should be awesome. It’s always a good thing to try something new, different, and outside your comfort zone, and this will be it.
Besides, I’ve heard the TNFECS is fabulous, so I am expecting just that!
But let’s back up and chat about what TNFECS is.
The North Face Endurance Challenge Series
The North Face Endurance Challenge Series is the premier trail race series, and it’s happening all over the US & Ontario, starting next week in New York.
The races are trail races, and they sound freakin’ awesome!
I will be doing the Utah trail race in October, and I am signed up to do a team Marathon Relay. I am stoked!
The North Face Endurance Challenge Series offers a huge (!!!) variety of different distances to run in, including:
- 50 mile
- marathon relay
- kid’s run
Soooooo pretty much there is a distance for every single skill level. Can’t beat that!
And…..that means there are no excuses not to join me. 😉
Join me in Utah in October (4th and 5th)—- besides, haven’t you always wanted to run with me??
Baby L wants you there too 😉 (p.s. how tiny does she look in that picture??!}
So sign yerself up—- it will be a party!
You can sign up, but please use my 10% off coupon code.
Oh, wait, did I mention I have a 10% off coupon code for my readers?!

Let’s do this!
In prepping for this race I will be running more….soon. 😉
It’s not until October, and I have a 5K in August, so I will start training for it mid-July.
Also, I am doing the marathon relay, so I will be doing 1 loop (of 4) of the distance (so just over 6 miles). It is on trails though, so I want to run on the trails at least a few times before the race.
What my training schedule will look like starting in mid-July:
- continue teaching my fitness classes Mon-Friday (I teach daily)
- add in a short run on Thursdays (2-3 miles)
- add in a bit longer run every other Saturday (4-6 miles)
- run on trails at least 2x before the race
Because I teach fitness classes with the areas of focus being strength, core, cardio, & plyo (Les Mills‘ BodyPump, CXWORX, GRIT, & Zumba), I don’t need to add in a bunch more for training other than the running.
I do want to do some more foam rolling & stretching though–so I need to come up with a system for that. Stay tuned!
I am sooo excited!
