Hiii you guys!

Wowzers–yesterday was a fun one, and a very tiring one.

Monday night baby Lily was going through a growth spurt or somethin’–girlfriend just did not want to go back to sleep! So Jared and I were a weeeeee bit tired yesterday. Somehow baby Lily was bounding with energy though, and she was tons of fun! We had a lot of giggles together.

Oh, and follow me on Instagram, because I FINALLY figured out how to post videos there.

Yes, I live under a rock (esp when it comes to video/technology stuff). Jared has to do it all for me…so I was proud I figured that one out on my own. So go follow me and see an adorable (hilarious) video of the little one! (More to come too).

And one day I will figure out how to put videos of her in my posts. One day.

WIAW-Hungry Often

I’m joining Jenn’s link-up party. It’s all about sharing ideas of foods, recipes, meals, snacks & more!

And because yesterday was fun, tiring, and began with my teaching a BodyPump class in the 5 a.m. hour, I was just hungry all.day.long. Hence why there are so few pictures and everything is sort of random…. (and this is not all I ate)

Just keeping it super real around these parts. ;)

Breakfast 

Part 1

-Clementines, applesauce, whey protein powder+ milk

{fruits before teaching, protein after}

Part 2

-A big bowl of oatmeal (2 packets of Trader Joe’s maple & brown sugar). Made with water & added cinnamon & almonds. I want EASY right after I come home after teaching so early!

Part 3

1 egg cooked in coconut oil topped with feta & spinach. And placed on whole wheat toast with more cheese. 

Lunch

Sour Cream & Onion chips. Cream Soda Zevia.

Yah. Awesome lunch right?

This was only part of it, actually, but I often eat my ‘meals’ in courses now with a baby. ;) She often has needs, and I want food rightthissecond so I often grab what is fastest & easiest first, THEN make a meal.

No picture of that meal b/c I am a slacker. It was turkey/spinach/cheese sandwich.

Snack

Cookie Crunch Ratio bar.

I was just sent these bars for review (blog post coming soon once I try all the flavors), and of course I ate one while listening to a work presentation.

It was really delicious–kind of like a glorified candy bar without a lot of the crap. This bar is made with milk/whey protein, is gluten free, is free of any GMO’s and has 24 grams of protein with only 4 grams of sugar.

Homemade chicken noodle soup.

Just what we both needed when we feel like we are zombies, and we need some comfort.

I made the chicken in the crockpot, sauteated the onions, carrots, celery in a saucepan, cooked the whole wheat noodles in a pan, and then combined all of that into the cooked chicken in the crockpot, added spices & salt, and wahhhlah!

Dessert/Snack

{I write this post right after dinner at 6ish}. I am going to eat some more ice cream with my protein chocolate sauce and drink some more water (I want to hit at least 90 ounces, so I’ve got about 15 or so to go).

  2. Isn’t it amazing how a peanut can not sleep all night and then be totally fine the next day? Thats a skill I need :) I want to try those bars! Can’t wait for the review. My favorite chips right now are the sweet potato pop chips

  3. Mmmm that chicken noodle soup looks good! I have some celery I need to use up, so maybe I’ll make some in the next couple days. Good idea!

  4. Sour Cream and Onion chips are so good! They were always one of my favourites when I was a kid…my absolute favourite though, are the dill flavoured Doritos…those are incredible. I made chicken noodle soup a week or two ago – so perfect and homey.

  7. I’m not a huge chips person, but when I do have chips I love just about anything SUPER crunchy. I default to jalapeno or BBQ kettle chips.

    That bar looks delish, looking forward to your review. Spoonful(s) of almond butter or deli turkey is usually my quick fix hunger go-to. When available though, I love protein bars. I’m currently in love with Quest bars, but since they aren’t widely available I default to Clif Bars at the store.

  8. I love the ruffles with sour cream and cheddar :) So yummy! I think that my mom’s homemade chicken noodle soup is definitely my comfort soup, she is a great cook :)

  9. I don’t handle my hunger – it handles me! Lol – when I get hungry everything else falls by the wayside until I can get food in my belly!

    & look at you drinking all that water!! Way to go!! I need to do better at that – especially with breastfeeding. I’m thirsty all the time!

  10. Sometimes I know I’m hungry just by my mood, not because my stomach growls. I’ll get anxious or impatient, and I know that if it’s been a while since I last ate, that means I need food! ha

    lately i feel like i’ve been eating around the clock, it’s crazy. i have snacks at my finger tips at all times: hummus/carrots, full-fat yogurt, farmers cheese, natural crunchy peanut butter, honey.. and whatever else. that’s just for in between meals. lol. my favorite kind of chips lately have been anything corn based for some reason, but i’m not a chip expert, lame i know! favorite comforting soup is anything with coconut milk, actually it’s tom kha gai, or that Thai chicken coconut soup. i love it!!!!

    Love reading your blog.

    Is your BODYPUMP class really at 5 a.m.? Or around there? I used to teach 5:45 a.m. BODYPUMP classes twice a week, but now my earliest is 6:30 a.m., thank goodness. Before 6 a.m. just seems obscene to me now.

    As far as food, lately, I’ve been having a Chobani Greek yogurt before my early class and it seems to be enough fuel so that I can have a normal protein shake and breakfast after the session. But yes, always much hungrier on early workout days.

    Do you find that your early morning members are less enthused than those in the evening? I always have!

    • I teach it at 5:30 a.m., yep! It’s early but I really like it, actually! My members do a good job of being pretty excited–some mornings are better than others, hah.

      Greek yogurt is a good choice before teaching too!
