Weekend Highlights: Our Return

Hiii friends!

Happy Monday and new week to all of us!

In case you missed it, my little baby and I flew out last week to StL to babysit my siblings so we could surprise my mom into taking a trip to Costa Rica with my dad. The whole thing was EPIC.

Weekend Highlights: Our Return

After waking up abruptly to feed my sister’s little boy so she could bring our sister to school, baby Lily woke up. So I fed her & changed her, played a bit with her, and then when she napped I busted my butt in a workout!

I’ve been LOVING doing GRIT in the comfort of my own parents’ home. 30 minutes of HIIT strength training kicked my butt! My legs were on fire…gotta love that feeling. πŸ˜‰

GRIT workout

After I showered & ate, the rest of the day was spent playing with my little girl and juggling my siblings’ schedules with my sister. We made a pretty good team, I must say! She was a rockstar and really picked up my slack since my baby was a bit more unpredictable than her baby (he is just over a year old, while my baby is 3 months).

Baby Lily and I played for a bit, and took some selfies in her mirrored toy.

Friday afternoon while the kids were playing, I finished the book I was reading the whole week…..ALLEGIANT.

I did not like the ending. at all. I am such a fairytale person, so when a main character dies??? I do NOT end up liking the book. That is just the way I am!}

Later we facetimed with my sister & her boys….one of her little boys was making funny faces, so I tried to capture it….

Well, I had no idea what hilarious face I really captured—-check out BABY LILY in the screen shot…

HAHAHAHHHA. She was getting tired, and that angle was so unforgiving, huh?

Then I made some sugar cookies & baked them up…..

For our cookie decorating party in honor of the opening ceremonies for the Sochi Winter Olympic games!

I was so proud of my hard work. πŸ˜‰

My parents got home around 11 p.m. (I crashed on the couch waiting for them), and after saying hello, catching up, hearing how amazing of a trip it was (yayyyyy!!!!), I went to bed & crashed hard.

I got my butt out of bed around 8 a.m. & did 2.25 miles of HIIT intervals on the treadmill while my mom watched Lily.

I gotta say, that was HARD to get up Saturday to workout, but I knew we’d be traveling, so I really wanted to start the day off sweaty! Being a fit mom is not always easy, people. πŸ˜‰

After showering, eating, and feeding Lily, I packed.

Then ate lunch.

Then said goodbye! It sucked to say goodbye to my parents after just being in the same house as them for 12 hours, but we also wanted to get home!

Enter our 3 hr 20 min flight.

Baby Lily did so well on the plane!

She got a bit sad when we touched down, but I told her we were about to see her daddy and she immediately calmed down. πŸ˜‰

weekend highlights

Reuniting with Jared was the best!

p.s. can I just say how amazing my husband is?! I came home to a clean apartment–all counters were sparkling, rooms vacuumed, bathrooms cleaned, and sheets & towels freshly laundered & put away. WOW. Just wow. Best surprise to come home to, ever!! Love you, Jared.

So after I admired our sparkling place, we put her down for a nap & I ran to the grocery store (what did he eat all week???! I will never know.) And then she went to bed around 8 and we were in bed at 10. We were both so so tired!

We all slept in til about 8:30 a.m.! (She only woke up 1 time before it was time to eat, and even then she slept a full 8 hours from bedtime feed to night feed, so that was a win!)

After a meeting for church I cut Jared’s hair, ate some lunch, and tried desperately to get my baby to calm down for her nap….

So I made a boo boo Saturday….

I FORGOT about the time change. So when we put her down for a nap around 545 p.m. Saturday when we got home, we should have been getting her ready for bed! GAHHHHH. When I was showering later with her that evening, it dawned on me that it was NOT 730 her time, it was 830! YIKES!

So she was overtired Sunday because of my mistake. And every nap was a beast. And bedtime? Horrible.

It was so sad! Baby Lily is such a happy girl, so it sucked to see her that way…..and knowing it was probably my fault? Yah, mom of the year goes to ……not me.

Oh well.

Other than that though, church was lovely!

{see? she is such a doll!}

And dinner was YUMMMO!

{My sister’s salmon recipe, quinoa, salad, and sweet potatoes with stevia.} I promise a post on all her recipes coming at ya soon!

Alright, I am off to teach some BP and CX! And then, Jared is home today because it is a grading day at school. WAHOOOOO!

Have a GREAT day! <3

How was YOUR weekend??! Do time changes throw YOU off ever?? Do YOU like decorating sugar cookies???! Have YOU read Allegiant–thought???!

  7. I absolutely loved the Divergent series, but yeah, the ending bummed me out. I mean, I suppose it was pretty realistic, but I was in tears after reading that! It took me almost two weeks to start another book because I felt like I had to mourn the last one. Nerd alert!

It’s awesome that you got some time at home with the family. That’s always the best.

Do you keep Lily on the time she is use too? We are traveling tomorrow and it is a 2 hour difference, they are earlier. I have to say I’m pretty worried about the time change!
