How are you all?

I am doing great! Baby Lily had a wonderful day yesterday (and evening the night before), so that was real nice!

K, so I didn’t necessarily feel ‘rested’ when I woke up to teach my early morning BodyPump class yesterday, but such is life with a newborn. ;)

WIAW-Shrimptastic

I’ve been a biiiiit better of snapping photos of my food, so I thought I’d share yesterday’s eats with you. (This is NOT all I ate–I am just too lazy to take pictures of every morsel of food I put in my mouth! ;) )

So I am joining the WIAW party!

Also, in case you’re wondering about the title, my mom had bought us a huge platter of shrimp when she was here, and instead of eating all of it then (because she had bought us SO.MUCH. food), we froze it. And yesterday it just CALLED to me!

Pre-Workout

I ate a piece of whole wheat toast with jam before leaving to go teach BodyPump. I also drank some FitMixer aminos to help me wake up! Both were unpictured because, well, it was reeeeaaalllly early, and I am not totally thinking straight until the cold air blasts me when I walk out the door. ;)

Breakfast

Milk + GoLean Crunch. And an orange.

Lunch

Eggs+shrimp+feta+kale and a side salad — eaten on the floor while baby Lily played & kicked around!

A little while later I also ate (unpictured) some sour cream & onion chips, & sipped on some pomegranate cranberry juice.

Snack

Mmmmm. I love Chobani yogurt & almonds!

Dinner

Homemade Potato, Corn, & Shrimp Chowder.

I made it up-and made up the name. And it was so so so so so so so good. (p.s. soups are so easy to make with my Blendtec!)

I also ate it with a side salad & homemade garlic bread, but those didn’t get pictured because a certain little munchkin needed me. ;)

(A sort of recipe for ya: in it there were onions, garlic, carrots, celery, potatoes, half & half, veggie broth, corn, cheese, & shrimp. With salt, pepper, & garlic.)

Dessert

I am typing this up before grabbing something sweet, so I am not sure yet what, but it’ll prob be some ice cream!

It was a fabulous day of eats!

    I’ve been loving the yogurt + almonds combo lately! A little bit of sweet & salty, and a little bit of creamy + crunchy = perfection!

    Mmmm that soup sounds so good! Great job on that one!

    I used to say I’d never get up earlier than 5 AM to workout, but since having Hunter, waking up in the 4 o’clock hour has definitely happened a few times. I don’t make it a regular thing (because my body doesn’t love it), but every once in awhile it’s necessary!

  5. To describe me eats yesterday: breakfast. I ate a lot of breakfast-y foods yesterday. I’m perfectly fine with that.
    Favourite soups: butternut squash or Italian Wedding
    As for workouts, in the summer for a little while I was getting up around 6 am to fit in a workout, but I only kept that up for a couple of months. I am not an early riser!

  10. Hmmm my food from yesterday was really diverse ha! I had quite a few different foods that I wouldn’t normally think to eat together. My favorite soup is probably homemade chicken noodle, but I am making a new chicken tortilla soup tonight so we will see how that goes :) The earliest that I have ever woken up to work out was 4:30 am and oh boy was that early for me!

  11. I love black bean soup from Panera. I have to get a whole wheat baguette and dip it in. YUM. I also really like chicken tortilla or chicken enchilada soup…..or a Thai Coconut Curry Soup….ok, ok. So I just like soup:-)

    I used to get up at 3:45 to run 9 miles before work. Seriously? Who was I? Now I can’t get up before 4:45, and that’s only when I HAVE to, NOT to workout. I usually take an early lunch break and hit the gym up around 9:30 or 10. It’s my favorite workout time.
