Friday Tangents {2}

Happy Friday! It’s the first Friday of the year–cool, eh??

Friday Tangents {2}

1. I lost an earring at dinner last night…

It was so sad. I was near tears on the drive home (they were the studs Jared got me as a ‘giving birth’ present). And then I had the brilliant idea to call my bro who was still at the restaurant and ask him to look for it.

It was worth a shot, right?

I also prayed really quick….

Annnnnnnddd he texted me 5 minutes later with these glorious words:

“I got it.”

2. We’re still on vacay!

And I am LOVING it! I love when Jared is on break from school too!!!

Lily’s so excited about it she blows spit bubbles! :)

He’s actually been relatively busy though because he and my brother-in-law are coding (computer coding) for someone who’s employed them to create a program.

But it’s MUCH less time than when he has tons of homework. So I feel lucky to have him around!

3. During my pregnancy I began to love the taste of milk.

I seriously drank milk every day of my final trimester, and it was so so tasty to me! Which is weird because I used to hate the taste of ‘just’ milk to drink. I mean I ate it in things (i.e. cereal), but never drank it as a drink.

And guess what? I am still loving drinking it! I drank it with homemade chocolate chip cookies last night and it was deeeeelicious.

4. My siblings are slowly leaving to go home. Boooo!

My siblings who live out of town all came during vacay for the holidays, and they’re each slowly leaving one by one with their families to go back home. It is sad! I hate when the holidays end & everyone has to say goodbye.

There are just 3 of us left with our families here in StL who don’t normally live here (3 younger siblings still live at home), and one of the 3 of us is leaving today. BOO!

5. Baby Lily has slept through the night a few times while we’ve been here!

But why not everyone night?!?!?! I wish.

She’s done preeeeetttyyy well, but we’ve had a few roughhhh nights. The other night being one of those. Ugh. I felt like a zombie most of the next day. And I probably looked like it too-hence why there are like no pics of me anymore. 😉

Oh wait. Here’s one of my dark circles:

6. I love seeing my mom (and dad) with their grandkids.

It just warms my heart! <3

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend!

We’re off to do some fun things, it’s our final vacay weekend, so we’re soaking it up!

What are some of YOUR tangents for today?!? What is something YOU’ve lost before that YOU ended up finding?!? Weekend plans for YOU?!!?

  3. Yay! Glad you found your earring! I’ve done that several times … sometimes I found it, while others I didn’t. I actually lost a ring that my parents got me from Tiffany’s, and I was SO sad that I lost it. I was heartbroken and so mad at myself! I wish it was one of those times that I found it… :(

    That’s great Lily has been sleeping so well! Hunter slept terribly while on vacation those first few months, so it never really felt like “vacation” to me. By the end of a week, I was ready to be home. I’m so glad you guys are enjoying yourselves! Buuuut, I also can’t wait for you to get home! Enjoy your last weekend!

  4. I always find random earrings or lipsticks when I clean out my purses, the best part is I ususally did not even know they are missing so it feels like I got something new! This weekend I am taking my 7 yr old daughter to yoga class with me, then my husband and I are taking both kids (4 and 7) indoor rock climbing. My goal for 2014 was to do more “active” play dates with my kids so I am excited to get started on that goal. Then we are watching the Saints/Eagles game Sat night. Go Saints!

  5. I freaked out a few months back when I almost lost a diamond ring my parents gave me when I turned 13. The next day, I tore apart my apartment and found it under my bed. No clue how it ended up there, but I didn’t ask questions lol! Glad you found your earring! :)

  10. Yay for finding lost earrings! That’s a plus about not having pierced ears.. no losing earrings! 😉 Before Christian proposed & I started wearing my engagement ring, I wore a purity ring. It was a $30 ring I got online so it wasn’t expensive, but every time I thought it was gone forever, I freaked out….. and then found it random places, like the rim on the washing machine. Like, what?! Even with the dark circles, you are beeeeeeee-a-utiful! <3

  11. Courtney says:

    Thank goodness you found your earring! I lost an earring that my dad gave me for a birthday gift while I was chasing down a lost beagle, and I still miss it. Fortunately, the beagle is okay, though, which is more important anyway. :)

    Oh, and your #3 — I can’t imagine not loving cow’s milk! I tried to forgo it for a while and drink almond milk instead, but there’s just something extra delicious about milk and cookies. :)

  12. Congrats on finding your earring! I actually had a similar experience once with a real gold good luck bunny necklace my mom gave me when I was born. Although I found it, someone stole it from me at school a year ago…. :(… I’m feeling your holiday blues too, but at least there are milk and cookies to cheer us up?

  16. My cousin who has a 7-month old told me that after she read a book called Babywise, she got her son to sleep through the night when he was about 6 weeks old. It’s all about getting the baby on a schedule. Maybe that could help Lilly (and y’all’s sleep schedule!)
