Fun Facts Friday {12/13/}

Hiiii friends!

Happy FRIDAY…the 13th.

Ooooh spooky.

Anyone superstitious??!

Not gonna lie, with my due date being the 12th, I was so nervous she’d be born on the 13th, and have to deal with superstition when her birthday fell on a Friday.

Well, seeing as though her birthday is nowhere NEAR the 13th (cough. those last few weeks took forever. cough), we’re in the clear. ;)

You’re welcome, baby Lily.

Fun Facts Friday {12/13}

1. I made a to-do list the other day!

I haven’t made a to-do list in, well, WEEKS! So this was monumental.

See when you have a newborn, everything else just does not matter anymore. Errands? They can wait. Cleaning the house? Ummmmmm. Dishes? Jared will do them (hehe). Get the mail? That can wait too. Take the trash out? Jared does that before I even have to think about it. Buy groceries? Wellllllll.

So you get my drift?

Things just don’t MATTER as much. I soak up as much time as I can with baby Lily, so blog reading, cleaning the house, getting the mail, making food, etc., that all has gone out the window.

And it’s all good.

So anyways, I realized that if I am going to have presents to give to people, and projects completed, I had better get my butt in gear. Not to mention our apartment needed serious attention.

And that to-do list? It’s like a mile long. And I need to do several of those items before we leave next week. AHhhhhhhh!

2. Speaking of food, do you want to know the last time I cooked?

The night I went into labor.

Yep. I am being for real! Even though I love exaggerating, I am not.

That was 7 weeks ago today (she turns 7 weeks on Sunday).

Because of my mom’s kindness (cooked every day she was here plus some to put in our freezer), kind friends from our church bringing us meals for 1.5 weeks, and my sister who cooked up a storm and filled our freezer to the brim, we haven’t had to cook a meal yet.

And, good news? We still have freezer meals left to eat, so I won’t be cooking until 2014!! (we leave next week for a trip to see my fam in StL)

sister made white bean chicken chili

SCORE!

3. I got my Les Mills releases the other day.

Wahoo!

Les Mills

Being a Les Mills instructor has changed my life for forever. I definitely attribute my growing in the area of group fitness to them and their amazing programs. And I also attribute my final triumph over eating issues with lifting weights–which came from an empowering weekend training in BodyPUMP in 2010.

So needless to say, Les Mills & their classes has a very special place in my heart. <3

Now after all that sappiness, I have major work to do in learning this choreo!

4. My Monday fitness class is changing to a longer class. WAHOOOOO!!!

I’ve been fighting to get my BP/CX class (it is currently 30 mins BP, 30 mins CX), changed to make it longer so people can get a full weights workout in.

Well, my boss said I deserve it (and the class does too!), so it’s changing to 45 minutes BodyPUMP followed by 30 mins CXWORX in January.

I am SO EXCITED!

5. I love Instagram.

{follow me!}

I just do. I like scrolling through people’s pictures–especially pics of cute babies, yummy treats, awesome workouts, people’s live’s going ons, and fun promotions.

I think it’s weird though when people comment and are like “oh my gosh that looks amazing” when the picture is of a nasty-looking blob of stuff that isn’t really food. Or something a normal person would eat. #petpeeve #truth #sorryimnotsorry

oh well, to each her own, right?

6. I called it.

So, I am really good at guessing when someone is pregnant. It’s a really weird special ability I have, but I just go with it.

Several weeks ago I just KNEW a certain someone was pregnant, so I told my sister & Ashley (they both read her blog).

A few times they each texted me and were like “yah I think so too” and also “are you sure?” after various posts.

I stuck with my initial gut feeling though, even when it seemed the announcement would never come….

and yesterday, she announced it!

AhhhhhHAH!

I am always right. ;)

Weirdly enough though, I was bad at telling when I was pregnant. I swore I was in January (took like 5 pregnancy tests), and I wasn’t. It happened the next month though.

Funny, right?

7. We are going to Christmas parties this weekend!

So last weekend wasn’t amazing, but this weekend is packed to the brim. I can’t wait!

Except I can. I am a bit nervous of how baby Lily will do with some more running around than usual and less sleeping in her pack’n’play.

She is a really good baby, and seems to just go with the flow, so I think she’ll do well, but still. It is definitely a new adventure to have a few errands to run PLUS being out. And I’m curious to see if it’ll mess with her sleep rhythms at all?

Newborns are always surprising, so I’ll keep ya posted. ;)

8. I love the holidays!

I just do. And had to tell you that.

And drinking hot cocoa. I love that too.

hot cocoa

And I had to end on an even number. So I had to say all of that.

yep.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend! This Sunday is the 3rd advent (which means Christmas is close)!! <3

p.s. go check out what Linz is having!!  (I already know. yes, I am going to rub it in. hehe) SO EXCITED for them!!!

What is on YOUR to-do list right now??! What irks YOU about Instagram?!? (please do tell!) What weekend plans do YOU have going on?!? When was the last time YOU cooked a real meal??! ;)

    • I actually don’t have a very big freezer….but she also cleaned it out before sticking it all in there. hah! She also froze all the soups & chilis flat, so they’d fit ;)

  2. CarolineO says:

My today to-do list involves a trip to Costco, finishing Joshua’s gift, finishing Jason’s gift, cleaning, making dinner and I’d love to squeeze a run in somewhere.

  3. So happy for tina!! Loving peanuts bow shirt-kay hasone on today too. Congrats on the class extension!!!

  4. I think it’s because I’m still a youngin’ or something but I had no clue that Tina was pregnant! No clue! So happy for her and Mal, though. Lily will only be a little one for so long, so I agree with you! Other things can wait. Soak up that time with your baby girl. She doesn’t know the dishes aren’t done, anyway, right? :)

  5. I have a bazillion things on my to-do list right now too. ‘Tis the season! Ahhhh!

Something that irks me about IG (well, not just IG, but just in general) are photos of people’s “protein powder icing” and “sugar free, nonfat, no calorie desserts”. Ugh. If you want a dessert, just have a REAL dessert and move on! Poor people are missing out.

This weekend we have a Christmas party tonight, not too much tomorrow, and then Sunday is church and we get to go see Cody’s cousin’s new TWINS! I’m so excited!

    • HAHAH. Totally laughing with ya–protein icing & calorie free everything. Yah. YIKES. I mean I like protein powder and all, but it’s not a dessert ;)

  6. I just did 88 for the first time and at first I wasn’t too sure about the music selection, but I am loving it so far. :)

  7. I don’t have a to do list right now – I probably should though, it’s likely then I’d get a whole lot more done…

I didn’t really start cooking dinner until Parker was almost 5 months old (there was a move, living with the in-laws, and just general craziness before that). Before she was born Andrew and I took turns since I was working but now I’m in a groove. Now that I have time and an audience cooking new things is much more fun!

  8. Oh I totally knew Tina was pregnant too! Her food choices were so not Tina-esque that I knew something was up ;) Yay for teaching a longer weights class! Woohooooo. Soak up that time with baby Lily before she’s toddler Lily and preschool Lily and so on…. #scary

  9. Haha my friends and I here also guessed she was pregnant! She was doing way fewer workouts and her food choices were getting much more carb-centric and basically all tan.

Also, I LOVE To Do lists! They calm me down when I feel overwhelmed because I like seeing what I need to do and knowing that I can go through the list and check things off.

  10. Seeing your kits makes me so sad! I decided to make the leap to digital and while I LOVE LOVE LOVE having my EVERYTHING at my fingertips, it is definitely different not having that physical kit. (But seriously, my entire DVD on my iPod, score.)

  11. Bahaha “when people comment on a gross looking pile of food and say it looks amazing” #TRUTH! Yes yes yes, that is so annoying and I just don’t understand it! If it looks nasty, don’t fake comment and act like it looks delicious :)

  12. I’m back in a cooking groove since having Atlas, but our meals are super simple now. Think grilled chicken, veggies, soup, etc. Nothing fancy, creative or gourmet.

There’s a chance I get certified to teach Body Pump in 2014…your post makes me excited to do it! But I’m still not 100% sure if I’m up for teaching Body Pump – I’ve never taught a class like that. You body pump instructors are kick a$$. haha – not sure if I can keep up with all that!

    • oh my goodness!!! DEF do the cert!!!! Ahhh it is so tough but so worth it & so fun. You’ll become such a good instructor just by having done it–Les Mills knows how its done ;)

      Tell me more!!

  13. we love instagram too! and we are heading to an ugly Christmas sweater party tonight :) should be fun!
hope you have a great day

  14. I always have a hunch about women being pregnant, too!! I had the same thought about Tina – and I few weeks ago when I met up with my friend I just knew she was pregnant. She told me about 10 minutes after I got there and I was so excited, obviously, and impressed with myself thatI knew! :)
