Weekend Highlights {12/2}

Hiiii people!

Happy DECEMBER.

Holy smokes. I can’t get over the fact that it is December!

I can, however, get over the fact that I haven’t touched our decorations yet. yikes. The plan is to get those up today! (We were gone from Tue-Sun with Jared’s fam, so I have a good excuse.)

Weekend Highlights {12/2}

You might have missed it, but we had a lovely Thanksgiving for baby Lily’s first one!

Friday

We awoke to a real alarm (usually baby Lily is my alarm on days I don’t teach in the a.m.) because we had family pictures that morning!

We got ready, ate quickly, I fed Lily, and then we hopped in the car.

We took the family pictures at the UT state capitol on the stairs–it was a gorgeous venue for pics, actually.

And right after everyone was in place & almost ready for the big family photo, we put Lily in her shirt.

(See–we’re getting smarter with this newborn stuff.)

She did great! She cried for a bit during some of our lil’ family photos (me, her, Jared), but otherwise she handled it all like a champ. I ended up feeding her twice while we were there because things just took foooorrreeevver.

Can ya tell Jared was donezo?

As much as I love the look of family photos later, they are such a pain in the butt. Everyone did great though, things just took a long time.

We stopped for tacos on the way home, but not picture of mine….because Lily woke up screaming wanting to be FED rightthatsecond. So once we made it home, I ran into our room to feed her right away.

Later on during her nap I did some Black Friday shopping…..

I texted my sisters and I was like “I’m just gonna go ahead & buy the entire Gap/Old Navy site.” HAH.

One of my sisters was like “go ahead & buy me one of everything too.”

In her dreams. ;)

Actually, I wish. Seriously though, one day when I am super famous & mega rich, I will buy things for everyone.

Yep, even you!

;)

hehe.

I digress.

The boys had gone on a mountain biking ride (hence why I was shopping online….), so once they were home we all ate some Mexican food.

The boys took all the kids to the Jazz basketball game and we ladies got ourselves ready to go to some stores & check out the sales.

We went to Kohl’s & Target. I just went along for the fun of being together, and looked for 2 items we’re thinking of getting, but couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, so I left empty handed.

Especially because Lily was riding on my front in the Ergo, so I definitely had free hands. ;)

We all hung out that night & just chatted! Lily decided she wanted to go to bed late too. No surprise there!

Saturday

We woke again to a real alarm so we could go meet up with my bro & his fam (in town for his sis-in-law’s wedding) & another bro (who is in college in ID), at an airspace museum.

{2 bros & me. On the left is the bro in college–and will enter dental school in the fall, 1 on the right is a resident-almost done & will be a real doc soon.}

We hung out & they got to meet baby Lily!

The kiddos all played around, we checked out cool airplanes, and we just had a good ole’ time for a few hours.

We said our goodbyes (we’ll see them in 3 weeks in StL when we all gather at my parents’ for Christmas!), and then Jared/Lily/I headed to DI to check out some 2nd hand stuff.

We scored a few deals! I totally am a fan of 2nd hand shopping when I am in the mood (you have to really be okay with looking for awhile). And I found some cute pjs for Lily!

The rest of the day we just kind of hung out. We ate snacks.

weekend highlights

I read for awhile, and then I took baby Lily and myself for a walk while the boys watched some sports.

I napped, we ate, and just hung out again that evening!

Sunday

Baby Lily decided she wanted to stay up wayyyy late (her ‘bedtime’ ended up being 12:40 a.m.), so I slept in with her until 10 a.m. (she ate at 6:40 a.m too). Then we got ready to go to church for the first time since she had been born!

weekend highlights

She did awesome & just chilled in our arms during the meeting.

I only went to 1 hour of church though, so not ready to tackle all 3 yet!

The rest of the day we napped, hung out, cleaned up, ate dinner, and then packed up & went home.

*****

Such a fun, fun weekend with Jared’s family! <3

And now it’s the first week in December and I am FULL on in the Christmas/holiday spirit. The music is on alllll the time, so baby Lily is gonna grow up knowing all the lyrics to every Christmas song I love. hehe

And now I am off to go teach BP/CX, babysit (swap services with the friend who will watch Lily), and then do the decorations for our apartment.

Have a WONDERFUL start to your week, December, and this holiday season!

What is something fun YOU did over the weekend??! Are YOUR decorations up yet??! What will YOUR workout be today??!

    • Yep–3 hours of separate meetings though. 1 hour for a larger service, 1 hr of sunday school, and 1 hour of split up meetings (kids go one place, young women another, young men another, women, and men) It’s great because you get it all! :) here’s a bit more if that helps: http://mormon.org/beliefs/church

  12. Old Navy has really been pleasing me lately, especially their activewear! For a college girl trying to be frugal, it’s a great alternative to more expensive activewear. Plus, they nearly always have sales! It looks like you had a really wonderful weekend. Lily is as sweet as ever in those pictures!

  17. I agree, family photos are definitely more complicated with a little one in tow. Our last photo shoot ended with us allowing Parker to nibble on a rose petal to keep her happy, which then caused her to spit up all over me! Thankfully, we were pretty much done the photos at that point:)

    I’m hoping to get our house decorated this week! Last year with being pregnant and working and hubby not getting home till 9ish every night we didn’t decorate at all until 2 days before Christmas – I’m planning on being a little more pro-active this year:)
