Baby’s First Thanksgiving

Hiiii friends!

Happy FRIDAY <3

Baby’s First Thanksgiving

So yesterday was monumental….baby Lily had her first Thanksgiving!

She celebrated by eating, pooping, being adorable, going on a walk, and sleeping.

She had a cute, special Thanksgiving outfit, so I made sure to put her in it right before we sat down to eat Thanksgiving dinner.

That is KEY with a newborn.

So I snapped a few photos (I’ve learned quickly with a newborn that if I want a photo of an outfit, I must do it ASAP)

Well….after we got her in her outfit, she decided she was hungry.

While the kiddos were all being helped & fed, I fed baby Lily.

And then after she burped and wanted to eat more, I fed her more.

At this point the adults started getting their food.

Then, as I was looking at how cute she was, she spit up allllll over her new outfit, me, and the couch.

And that was about 10 minutes after her being in her special outfit.

It was kind of funny…..and sad all at the same time. :/ Simply because then I had to clean her/me up while everyone was eating. (I wasn’t going to make them wait & the food get cold), and she needed to eat a bit more.

Oh well, such is life with a newborn!

But because people got seconds & ate for awhile and sat around just chatting, I didn’t eat by myself. 😉

It was all reallllly delicious!

Rolls (I made them), sweet potato souffle, mac & cheese bake, jello fruit salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, turkey, cranberry sauce.

And one of my sisters-in-law held her so I could eat. So kind of her!

Notice how baby Lily is in a new outfit?!

Later on we watched Elf (baby Lily slept) and ate dessert.

Twas a great holiday!

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

We’ll be with Jared’s family all weekend, so it should be a blast :)

How was YOUR Thanksgiving if YOU celebrated??! Weekend plans??! Any funny stories occur yesterday to YOU or YOUR kiddos??!

  5. Ahhhh so so so cute!!! And such a typical day with a newborn. :) We are headed to my parent’s house today to celebrate Thanksgiving – my sister is a nurse and usually works holidays so we normally celebrate a day later. .. Just waiting for Luke to wake up from his nap and we will get going. 😉

  6. We had a great Thanksgiving! Parker has started eating solids, and she thoroughly enjoyed the mashed potatoes and turkey – baby covered in food is much cuter than spit up, but definitely a little more complicated to clean up;)

Lily looked adorable (in both outfits)! So glad you guys had a great 1st holiday.

  9. Aww, glad you still had a good time and didn’t have to eat alone! I got off at 7am on Thanksgiving morning, slept till 11am and then went to my grandmother’s for lunch(?)…I got there about 10 minutes after everyone had finished eating! Womp womp! But at least they all sat around and chatted with me/kept me awake while I was at the table! Today was my family’s BIG meal…my mom and I went all out and it was amazing!
