And because it’s Friday, I am just gonna go ahead & ramble…and call it fun facts friday.

Fun Facts Friday {11/22}

1. I taught CXWORX yesterday evening…..yikes. Can we just talk about how I have major work to do on my core?!

Dang that class is hard. I am grateful I teach it though, because it makes me get my butt (errrr core) in gear. I often skip over core work, so teaching the class makes me do it.

And did ya know, having a strong core makes you a better athlete?

It’s definitely worth sticking into your fitness routine. ;)

Especially if you had a baby….my middle section can use all the help it can get!

2. Jared’s bike was stolen on Wednesday. What is wrong with people?!

Seriously.

He was bummed, but took it well. He owns 3 bikes (he is an avid mountain biker), so this was his cheapest one that he uses to commute with, but STILL.

Who steals bikes?!

We talked about it and he had such a good attitude about it all. He told me he just hoped it was some dude who needed money to feed his family or something.

Yah.

And because we are a 1 car family, this totally sucks. It is what it is though, and I guess it doesn’t help to stay mad or hold a grudge.

But I still get to complain about it once on the blog. ;)

3. I have so many books I want to read.

I am just gonna throw that one out there…Baby Lily takes up much of my time, as she should, but I still want to stick with my reading.

Any tips on juggling that with a newborn?

4. On the other hand, I am all caught up on some of my favorite TV shows!

I stick my laptop next to the glider, and sometimes while I am feeding her, I watch a TV show episode.

I’ve watched a few episodes of Biggest Loser, Once Upon A Time, and Drop Dead Diva. All of my favorite shows!

She gets to eat, and I get a bit of fun-win win. Of course I don’t do this at every feeding (not enough episodes anyways), but it is fun once in awhile!

5. I need to get back in the habit of eating breakfast right away.

I know how awesome it is to eat right away, but sleep trumps eating in my book (especially with a newborn), and she often cries me awake in the morning because she is hungry. So of course I put her needs first and feed her, but dannnnng.

It’s tough to be hungry & stuck on a glider with an adorable newborn eating. :/

I always have my water bottle next to the glider, so I’m never dehydrated (unless I am out & didn’t get a chance to fill it), but I can’t really store my milk, cereal, or hot oats by the chair.

I guess I just have to suck it up & make that a priority, eh?

6. Other than something on Sunday, we don’t have much on the agenda for the weekend. 

And that’s totally fine by me! With the holidays fast approaching, I am going to soak up these moments where we don’t have much going on.

I might hit up an expo, go to the grocery store, and take lots of naps.

That last one? I WILL do that. hah.

7. Today I teach Zumba again for the first time in 4 weeks!

Whoa! I am a bit nervous, not gonna lie.

What if I forget all my choreo?? What if I can’t keep up with my class?

What if I pee while I jump around? HAH.

And what if they liked the sub better than me?

Yep, still have some of those thoughts even though I’ve been teaching for years. I am human.

8. It snowed yesterday!

I love the snow–I think it’s so pretty. And it really puts me in the holiday mood, fast!

I especially love it when I get to watch it fall from my window at home, and not from my car window. ;)

  3. Look at you getting back in shape already, that’s awesome. I am SO excited to get back into real running and working out. I have my first baby shower this weekend, I’m a tad excited;)

  4. My husband actually had his bike stolen a few years ago from the beach! We were about to leave the beach and when we went to get our bikes, we saw there was only 1 still there! I rode my bike home from the beach while my husband walked. We then drove around in his car to see if we could see anyone riding it, but we never found it. My husband was SO mad because it was a very expensive bike.

  6. Oh man, that’s awful about Jared’s bike! I happen to work in the criminal justice field, so I know how cruel people can be sometimes. It’s awfully sad and so not necessary!

    That blanket that Lily is wrapped up in is gorgeous. I love the color combo!

  8. That’s too bad about Jared’s bike! But both here in Chicago and when I went to school in Charleston, stolen bikes were SUPER common. Like I felt nervous locking my bike up anywhere because I always knew there was a chance that my bike, or at least parts of it, would be stolen.

  9. That sucks about Jared’s bike! Mine got stolen a few years ago, so I’m trying to be super careful with my current one to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
    I definitely don’t do a lot of core work on my own, so it’s a good thing that a lot of the fitness classes I take finish with a few minutes of core work!

  10. Sorry about Jared’s bike! Everyone bikes here in Bozeman (except now that there’s 4 inches of pure ice on the sidewalks/streets) so we all have a bike! They’re a nice way to get around! How cold is it in Utah right now?! It was 1 degree here when I woke up today :(

  11. Snow definitely puts me in the holiday mood! Unfortunately, it seems to snow in the beginning of December every year, up until a few days before Christmas, leaving Christmas to be green. Such a bummer, but then it typically snows the day after! Anywayy I can’t wait to hear how Zumba goes :)

  13. How sad that someone stole Jared’s bike! That’s great he had such a positive attitude toward it though. Sounds like how Cody would respond to something like that – no surprise there. ;)

    I think Lily is starting to look like Jared… They do change a lot though, so that could change quickly.

  14. I can’t believe you taught CX – you’re super woman! Do you have to modify the crunches/cross crawls? I’m sure you’ll totally rock Zumba (even if you do pee when you jump) :)

    Maybe mixed nuts and a fruit bowl by your water bottle? Or maybe prep some overnight oats or yogurt/granola items for a quick grab before sitting down to feed Lily?

  15. I hate core work. I’ve barely done any since I had Addie. :/ So I’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but my core is certainly nothing to brag about haha. I know I need to do more to strengthen it, but I just hate core work so darn much!

  16. CX is an intense class. I wish it was taught more often at the Gold’s that I go too. Boo! Anywho, have you thought about listening to books on tape/CD? My mom does it in the car and loves it! :)
    It hasn’t snowed yet where I live, but the mountains just got alot and the slopes opened! Yay!

  18. Jared sounds like such a sweetheart with a good attitude! I’m like you though – I would be so mad if someone stole something from Dave. I would be running a full-on investigation – Sherlock Holmes’ style. I don’t let things like that go very easily. haha

    And I’m the same way with TV shows. I never really watched much TV before Atlas, so I didn’t have any real favorite shows. But I’ve been forced to find some since (especially for those first few weeks) I was confined to the couch.

  19. That’s terrible that someone stole your husband’s bike….it’s amazing that people have the nerve to steal something from someone else! Could you imagine?? Ugh!
    I love DDD & Biggest Loser (I’m catching up on this week’s episode while I type!)…and I really liked Client List but I think it got cancelled :( I actually watched a lot of late night infomercials during feedings – catching up on TV shows would’ve been a better idea!

  20. I think it’s great that you’re just getting back into teaching! The first step is always the hardest and I’m sure you’ll bounce back quickly now that you’re back at it :)

    Question – how did you get certified to teach those classes and did you have a pretty easy time finding a job once you were?

    • I have my BS & MS degrees in Exercise Science & taught fitness classes at the college–having that experience & attending classes at a gym and going to a Zumba cert, I applied & auditioned at that gym a few months later. I was hired as a Zumba sub, and 1 month later they had a BodyPUMP training, so I attended that & immediately got on the schedule with several classes. I’ve never needed a generic fitness instructor cert for any gym I’ve taught for b/c of my education & experience–but I have specific certs in all the formats I teach (zumba,bp,cx,grit,piyo). Hope that helps!

  21. When I was breastfeeding – I started listening to audiobooks on my ipod – especially at night when I didn’t want to turn on the tv! Hope zumba went well. :)

  22. How rude about the bike!! I’m sorry girl. You are the best zumba instructor ever, so no worries girl!! I love your “random” posts… esp when they include pics of Lily!! :)
