First off–thanks for all the comments & kind words all over social media & this blog!
I read them to Lily & she loves hearing how adorable she is.
I can’t wait to put Lily in her Halloween onesie that I bought for her.
(p.s. I almost didn’t buy the onesie last week because I was kinda convinced she was going to stay in there forever & wouldn’t arrive by Halloween….. haha. but for realzzz.)
We also might try out a cute costume someone gave to us, but it might be a little big. Photos to come, I am sure!
So Lily was born a few days ago (and yes, I will eventually get that birth story up soon!), and since she was born I’ve definitely not thought about food or eating practically at all. I’ve automatically switched to thinking about her needs before my own-becoming a mama will do that to ya!
Which is why I look like this:
crazy hair, tired eyes, and super super happy. <3
Because of this little one:
So of course it is key to take care of myself & eat well, but it has been far from my thoughts these past few days. I am sure that will normalize eventually, though!
And, my mom being here has been awesome!! She’s made meals & gotten me water & snacks when I’ve needed them when I’ve been stuck on the glider feeding Lily, so that’s been uber helpful to keep my energy up as we enjoy this transition.
I love everything about having a newborn. She is so so darling!
And here is some food I’ve enjoyed these past few days:
Sandwiches at the hospital (the food there was pretty good & I got to order what I wanted. It was pretty sweet!)
We were also given a celebration dinner, complete with sparkling juice!
And my mom bought me lunch the other day. Thanks mom!
Mmmmm salad & sandwiches. My fave combo!
And then my mom made this killer salmon for dinner the other night.
I gotta get that recipe from my sister and share it with you guys. It was crazy good!
I’ve also eaten a lotttttt of ice chips with this yummy juice, chocolate milk, applesauce, cottage cheese, and fruit.
And homemade banana bread muffins-that I made & froze during that loooooong waiting period.
Remember that time?? hah.
But she was verrrrry worth that wait.
Don’t ya think?!
- I am crazy thankful for my beautiful little girl.
- I am SO thankful her bilirubin levels came down (we went to the doc’s yesterday), and she is all in the clear!
- I am thankful for wonderful family who have been so helpful to us!
Have a GREAT HALLOWEEN!
I will definitely be eating some chocolate (my mom brought me some Swiss chocolate), and hanging with my favorite lady today.
p.s. did you see Linz’s news?!? When she told me a little while I ago I pretty much freaked out. I am SO HAPPY for her!
What have YOU been eating lately??! What treat(s) are YOU going to enjoy for Halloween??! Are YOU dressing up today??!
