You guys are da bomb. For realz.
Thank you so much for all your kind comments, tweets, thoughts, and love in regards to our announcement!
Lily, Jared, and I appreciate it all!
(p.s. SO fun that there are 3 of us now!)
I wanted to stop in real quick & share a few thoughts & pictures (duh!), but it will be short. I gotta soak up as much time with my little girl as possible! And I will work on writing the birth story too. It is pretty epic.
This newborn beauty is such a wonderful presence around here—we sure do love her!
1. I never knew I could love a little baby SO much.
I know that sounds cliche & sappy, but dude you guys, Lily has stolen our hearts.
Yep, Jared admits it. She has us enamored!
I just want to hold her all day long, kiss her adorable cheeks, and tell her how much I love her alllll the live long day. I already LOVE being a mama!
2. I’ve never been SO excited to go home in my life.
We stayed an extra night at the hospital (Monday night) because Lily’s bilirubin levels were high (jaundice–happens in about 50% of babies), so she had to stay under the lights in the nursery for those extra 20 hours.
It was horrendous. I hated not being able to hold her when she was under those lights (special lights to bring the bilirubin level back to normal).
And I was so glad when her tests came back more normal the 3rd time around & we could leave yesterday morning!
Home has been amazing-and my mom has come to visit & help out. We’re loving it! Thank you, mom!
3. I am LOVING not having a schedule!
It’s pretty neat to know I have nothing planned for the next little while!
My busyness and schedule-loving self is really enjoying the beauty of that freedom already. Obviously I am ‘busy’ with Lily, but it is a different kind of busy and I am soaking it all up.
It’s pretty sweet to have a little baby in a home-there is definitely a special spirit that comes with those little ones! I feel so so blessed.
4. Jared is the most stellar husband and father. Period.
He has been SO AMAZING through this all. Wow, never knew I could love the guy more….but I do!
Mushy yes, but so very true!
5. I can’t get enough water!
People say breastfeeding makes you thirsty….well that is the understatement of the year.
I drink so much water/fluid each day it is ridiculous. But I guess a lot of that is going to Lily, so it makes sense. But it’s still cray.
6. Lily will definitely be here to stay!
I am snapping photos left & right…and intend to share pretty much all of them. Bring.it.on.
I mean, I waited so freaking long for her, it is only normal that I am totally obsessed with her now. 😉
Have a GREAT day! <3
