Friday Confessions {11}

Hi friends.

Happy FRIDAY!

Friday Confessions {11}

1. If nothing happens today/this weekend, I will probably have a baby by Monday/Tuesday.

That is nice to know there is an ending, and I get to meet her eventually (!!!!). But I am still holding out that miss stubborn Baby Perks comes on her own! My body will do what it is supposed to–at least I am hoping & praying it will.

{So prayers & labor dust are super welcome!!}

I have a doc’s appt today, so if she’s looking great, she’ll stay in there until the doc feels it’s best for her safety to take her out–which is probably by Mon/Tue the latest.

2. Castor oil works…..

…..well, it is definitely a good laxative, that is for sure!

If you love hanging out on the toilet, try it.

For me it tasted horrible & the runs weren’t too bad or painful (and it was over quickly), and I had some contractions here & there, but sadly nothing too cray.

Sad face.

3. I <3 bagged popcorn.

I just love the stuff.

friday confessions

I can eat it anytime, anywhere.

But movie theatre popcorn?? YUCKO. I can’t stand it. Probably because when I was younger (about 8 or 9) I had some & was sick for hours & hours. I swore it off, and I haven’t had it since then!

4. I am going to try acupuncture today.

Up next for induction of labor methods: Acupuncture.

I can’t wait to get stuck with needles (!!!!) Hah.

NOT.

Does it hurt??

I am kinda scared. But willing to DO ANYTHING for this baby to come out.

So there’s that.

5. I made a soup from scratch the other day. I was proud of myself. BAM!

And I felt so domestic!

friday confessions sweet potato soup

I made homemade sweet potato soup (and it was really easy thanks to my Blendtec!). And it has a spicy kick to it! It’s really delicious.

I should probably get my act together & type up a recipe at some point in the next year….

6. I do not love apricot yogurt.

I bought a few Chobani yogurts the other day (hello easy breakfasts & snacks!), and I bought an apricot one.

Truth: it was so gross to me I gagged & had to chuck it.

I dislike throwing food away with a passion, but during pregnancy I’ve had NO problem with it. If it seems nasty to me, it’s GONE. And boy did that yogurt taste diiiiiisgusting to me. Which is sad, because I love CHO!

I actually tried a lemon Chobani for the first time the other day and it was deeeelicious.

the end.

*****

Alright, that’s all I have for ya today.

Have a GREAT WEEKEND! <3

And I’ll ‘see’ ya next…..when I see you. Who knows when that will be!? ;)

What is a homemade recipe YOU’VE made lately???! Do YOU like movie theatre popcorn??! Have YOU tried acupuncture?? What are YOUR weekend plans??!

  7. Acupuncture is the best treatment ever! I love my needly naps each week. :) I find my treatments to be VERY relaxing and no you can’t feel the needles. There have been a handful of times that one spot has felt more powerful than another, but not like a shot or having blood drawn.

    Sounds like you are nesting with all of the recipes/ soups. I keep thinking and praying for your little one. :)

  8. Acupuncture is seriously awesome and is just like a wonderful little nap!!! No pain at all and I hope it relaxes the little lady enough she’s ready to join the world!! :)

  9. I’m the same way, I LOVE bagged popcorn but I can only handle so much movie theater popcorn. I always ask them to not put any butter or anything on it, but even then it’s just too much!

  15. oh my goodness. Still no baby? so crazy.

    I’ve never done acupuncture, but it sounds really cool. Let us know how it goes.

    Last night I made pumpkin pancakes. So easy. 2/3 c. oats, 1/4 c. pumpkin, 1/4 nonfat greek yogurt, 1 egg, 1 egg white, and vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. I topped them w/maple almond butter and bananas. Coconut would probably be good too.

  17. My pregnancy was a lot like yours, the bugger was very stubborn and I had to be induced. While we were discussing with the doctor about the whole process, I learned that in the ‘olden days” it wasn’t uncommon for ladies to go to 43 weeks and usually in those cases the due date was wrong, meaning you were actually supposed to be later. I remember my due date was May 30, and they had readjusted saying potentially it really was June 5, but they didn’t want to wait anymore (and neither did I for that manner). I just hated the waiting game as all of my friends (and I do mean all except one) went like 1-2 weeks before their due date…

  18. I’ve had acupuncture for my knees and it seriously didn’t hurt. If you are queasy with needles, just try not to look at them because it looks kind of strange. It’s kind of relaxing though, as weird as that sounds!

  21. I love movie theater popcorn – extra butter. Haha, it’s a good thing I never go to the movies. (I think the last time was Pitch Perfect… so well over a year ago.)

    I love acupuncture. LOVE. I thought I would hate it BECAUSE NEEDLES, only, it doesn’t hurt. I always close my eyes, but it isn’t scary. I always feel so good when I’m done. I can’t speak from personal experience on labor-inducing results, but I know Caitlin at HTP went into labor 5 hours after acupuncture.

    Kia kaha Annette – you’ll make it through and Baby Perks will be here soon enough! :)

    Acupuncture doesn’t hurt at all. I am terrified of needles but not acupuncture. It is amazing. B3 sure to just…chill afterwards. Don’t run around amd do stuff. :) Just relax if you can! Lots of love to you and your little family!

  24. I have been going to acupuncture weekly since week 8 of my pregnancy (I’m 23 weeks now) and have loved it! I’ve had no issues and was only sick for 2 weeks (the 2 weeks I wasn’t doing acupuncture from weeks 6-8). I highly recommend it to everyone I talk to! It is great for pregnancy and I hear it works wonders for inducing labor! I hope it works for you!
