Distractions

Hey friends!

What’s up?

A few things I must mention:

1. My massage was ahhhhmazing last night! I loooovvve massages. I always say that if I had tons of money to burn, I’d get a masseuse and a personal chef.

2. I ate a delicious lunch yesterday with a friend (we went to Mimi’s Cafe). It was so fun to go out & chat for awhile!

3. I’ve actually cooked dinner twice this week. GO ME! (some of you are like “only 2x’s?!? It’s Thursday.” hah)

4. I love my Blendtec more & more each day.

5. I am not into making salads for myself right now…make it for me & I’ll eat it (see above), but I can’t seem to stomach the idea of making a salad lately. Super weird.

6. My mom says I need to shock my body & just be sedentary (since I’m usually the opposite) & watch movies. Hmmmmmm. But endorphins are my SANITY!!! However, I might lose that if Baby Perks doesn’t come soon, so I guess it’s worth a shot? Netflix here I come.

Distractions

And on that note, I am going to distract you & me from thinking about my sanity & the current adorable baby that is not making her appearance.

Katie, the ever so thoughtful Katie, sent me an email yesterday with a ton of awesome quotes, so I am going to share some with you. Along with a bunch of other random stuff to distract you from what you should be doing. Enjoy!

Thankful Thursday

  1. I am thankful for soup. I love a warm soup on a cold, fall day!
  2. I am super grateful for a husband who thinks of my needs first.
  3. I am grateful for music–it can make my mood so much better so quickly.

Have a LOVELY day! <3

What is YOUR favorite way to be distracted??! If YOU had a ton of extra money to burn, would you get a personal trainer, chef, masseuse, or shopper???! What are YOU thankful for today?!?

  2. That massage must’ve been amazing!! I know in later pregnancy sometimes you just need a good rub down! (Sounds dirty but I swear I meant it literally! lol)
I like the quote, the best things in life are free, the second best are expensive! So true :)
And good for you for still being so active and cooking and eating really well! You’re like the model pregnant person :)

  3. I like your Moms idea! It just may be the ticket!

  4. If I had tons of money to burn, I’d get a personal shopper, who could bring over racks of clothes tom house (or mansion) handpicked for my body and style, and a personal chef, who would cook whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Sigh. One day, perhaps?

I’ve never had a real massage, so I don’t really understand how amazing they are.

    xo

  5. Baby Perks will come eventually! I think Netflix sounds like an awesome option – plus, it’ll make the hours fly by if you watch a bunch of good movies or perhaps an entire television season. :)

  6. Yay for Netflix! Such a great way to suck away all your time! Ha! I hate making my own salad. Give it to me and it’ll eat it, but I HATE making it myself. And I’m not even pregnant! 😉

  7. Hang in there!!! You will be sleep deprevied and deliriously happy before you know it. 😉 And I totally agree that I would hire a personal chef and massage therapist if I were rich. And I am thankful for soup – especially the squash soup at Panera. yum.

  8. Ahhh I’m SO glad your massage went so well! Now let’s hope it does some magic, right? 😉 Your attitude has been amazing this week. And I looooove Mimi’s Café, especially for their muffins!

  9. Is it sad that I agreed with everything on your list and I’m not even pregnant?! lol Yes to personal chef, yes to very few dinners cooked lately, yes to I hate making my own salads, and a big ol’ YES to netflix.
And I love the Plot Twist quote. That’s great :)

  10. ooo that dip on the triscuit looks delicious! And I would totally get weekly massages if I could! Although as for hiring people, I know I want a maid and maybe a chef! But definitely a maid…

  11. I love these quotes! I do enjoy full body massages, but now that I’m pregnant, I don’t know what it is but I’m weirded out by that. I keep hinting to the hubby about a future facial. I haven’t had one in years and my skin isn’t the greatest. That salad looked awesome!

Best of luck and hope baby girl comes maybe this weekend!?! :)

    • It was pretty cool how she did it–lots of pillows, so I was super comfortable & it felt awesome.

A facial would be great too!!

I HOPE she comes this weekend :)

Wow! I needed those words: Faith in God includes faith in his timing!!!
Hit me square in the gut! Thanks for sharing!
Know many thoughts are with you as you await Baby Perks!

  13. Good ways to distract yourself! If money wasn’t an issue, I would get massages on the regular. Also, shopping would happen a lot more often that it does right now :-p

  14. COME ON BABY PERKS! Sometimes scheduling an induction scares them out 😉

bahahahahahaha oh wow, i totally LOVE your post and the little funny quotes. hilarious and so right!!! yes, plot twist indeed. i’ll be using that from now on, lots of plot twists going on my life. lol. it’s always nice to laugh about something.
with all the plot twists going on, i need all the distractions i can get! my training plan has become my focus right now since it is so crazy and complicated, it takes most of my brains just to figure it out and get it done. by the time the day is over, i’m too exhausted to be stressed. ha!
if money was not object, i’d get them ALL plus a chauffeur…. i’ve always wanted a driver. sigh, first world problems 😉
i’m SUPER thankful for today: my job, cuz it’s a pretty nice place to work with a great schedule at the very least; my mom, yes my mom. she just rocks. she is ALWAYS there for me. my baby brother – he took a date to his homecoming dance and planned the whole evening by himself… omg!!! which included buying her flowers, picking her up, organizing a restaurant for dinner, and so much more. he’s grown up to be such an amazing man. i love him!!!! <3
lots of love and distracting cyber hugs to you mamacita, have a blessed and blissed and beautiful day!!! :)

  16. Let’s go baby perks!! Come out and meet your mama!! (and us excited readers!!)

I agree with your mom…netflix all day…and then the next day be super active!

For what it’s worth, with all 3 of my Mom’s pregnancies, she would stay low energy toward the end, and then all of a sudden she would have a burst of energy and go on a cleaning marathon…and then the baby was born the next day :)

  17. I agree with your mom too! I worked out hard the whole time I was pregnant with Elijah. Two day before my due date I went on a huge hike and carried Rivers most the time. I thought for sure it would do the trick. It didn’t. The next day I just stopped. I sat around all day and relaxed. The day after that is when I went into labor! It’s worth a shot! Hang in there! It will happen and it will be amazing!

  18. Ahhh, so many distractions, so little time. :) Maybe your mama’s onto something. Enjoy the quiet while you can. haha

  19. Love your work! you have certainly distracted me here. The quote about “the best things in life are free and the second best are expensive” really caught my attention. It’s so true. Pity mosquitos can’t suck fat, lol :)

My baby girl was due on Monday so I am in the same boat as you right now with the waiting game! My doctor sent me to the hospital today and talked induction which I didn’t want yet. As we were being monitored, I was reading blogs and came to this post. So glad you included the faith in God’s timing quote! Our girls will come when he knows best! Until then, hopefully you can relax and enjoy Netflix like I am right now :-) good luck!

  21. CarolineO says:

If I lived near you, I would totally make all those things for you.
I loved the if only Mosquitos sucked fat and not blood. GENiouS. If only. :)
    You can do this!! :)
