Happy Independence Day!

Hey friends!

It is July 4th, and thus, here in the USA, a HUGE holiday happens today…

Happy Independence Day!! <3

happy independence day

{2 years ago I made a flag cake!}

I am very very grateful to live in this country–and especially for our forefathers for fighting for our independence & freedom. They’ve given us so so much!

I practice religion (I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aka LDS or Mormon), so I am thankful that in this country, we are allowed those religious freedoms. This is not the case all over the world–so I feel especially grateful!

I’ve watched “The Patriot” and I recently saw “Act of Valor” and although both are quite violent, it reminds me how much families & individuals give up to serve our country-both in the past & in the present. I am very very humbled & grateful for their bravery, service, & sacrifice.

Thank YOU armed forces & forefathers! <3

To celebrate, we (with Jared’s family at the mountain house) will be eating red, white, and blue foods, swimming, going to a parade, watching fireworks, and reflecting on how grateful we are for our country.

Have a FANTASTIC day everyone!

What are YOU thankful for today?! Whatcha ya up to for the 4th?! If YOU live in a different country, what is YOUR country’s ‘day’??!
