6 Random Facts About Me

Hey friends!

How’s it going? HAPPY FRIDAY! And happy LONGEST day of the year <3

I am stoked to spend today & the rest of the weekend with some of my family  (& husband!) at the mountain house. After I teach Zumba in the a.m. today, I’m taking the day off work & going to play all day. Working & stress are overrated. 😉 I’m taking total advantage of the longest day of the year, obv.

p.s. the below salad was so so good. go combine feta, peach, roasted almonds, and spinach–you can thank me later.

p.p.s this salad was a part of a snack for me. I’m eating lots lately, I think Baby Perks is having a growth spurt-which is fabulous for me! :)

And because this blog is written by me & my perspective, I’m sure you just can’t get enough of me. 😉 So here are 10 random facts about me that you might not know.

6 Random Facts About Me

1. I oddly can remember license plate numbers & telephone numbers really well.

It’s a freaky, odd thing to be talented at. Now with smartphones being well, so smart, I don’t memorize phone numbers as often anymore.

2. I prefer sour or tart candy/fruit to sweet candy/fruit.

I like it sour or tart! My husband is the complete opposite on this. He loves strawberries while I love kiwis & blackberries & lime/lemon anything.

3. Because of my Montessori training, I separate anything into colors.

Skittles, starbursts, jellybeans, etc. are sorted into color the moment I open a package.

I went to a Montessori school since Toddlers (pre-K) with LINZ through 6th grade. We’re great at sorting & hands-on stuff, aren’t we, Linz? I loved that schooling & hope to have my kids go to Montessori for at least a few years.

4. I used to never wear sunscreen.

Like EVER. I am lucky in the fact that if I burn, it usually turns into a tan in 1-2 days, so when I was younger (teens), I never wore sunscreen b/c I didn’t want to lessen any tanning benefits. Yes, very stupid.

Now? I wear sunscreen every time I go outside! And guess what? I don’t really ever burn, and I get a nice tan. Winning.

random facts

Jared always jokes that he hopes all of our kids get my skin genes, because the poor guy burns any second he goes outside (w/or w/out sunscreen).

5. I’m a really good multi-tasker. And I am bossy.

These are both awesome & horrible.

If you are bossy, I’d consider becoming a fitness instructor….it really is NO surprise that I love, love telling people what to do. And helping them get results. 😉

random facts

I used to boss my sisters around when we’d play with Barbies…and I always got the ‘good’ Barbies & Kens.

6. I feel really blessed.

I know this isn’t much of a surprise to some, but I just wanted to express how grateful I am -for everything. My husband, my faith, my family, my support group, my friends, you guys, my job(s), my talents/hobbies, and my trials.

My life is not peachy or without bumps-never has been, but I’ve come to learn to really live in a space of gratitude & thankfulness that has helped me turn those trials or frustrations into hurdles rather than keeping them as roadblocks.

Have a LOVELY day! <3

  2. Cody can remember numbers really well too. You crazies. 😉 And I used to be TERRIBLE with sunscreen as well. I lifeguarded for several summers in the AZ sun and hardly ever used it… SO BAD. I’m a lot more cautious now, thank goodness.

  3. Love your random facts…I may have to do a blog post like this :)

  4. I’m crazy bossy AND a fitness instructor, so I guess your theory is proving right ;). I love telling people what to do, especially when I’m getting paid to do so. Bossy gals unite!

  5. I have the same issue as your husband – I step into the burn and I burn, regardless of whether or not I’ve got sunscreen on. You should have seen me after mexico last year; I was a complete lobster. And I think I have one nectarine left in my fridge, so I need to try your salad combo 😉

  6. The husband and I both tan really well, so I’m hoping our girls get our tanning abilities and not the tanning abilities of some of our family members. I am always hounding him to wear more sunscreen since he works outside every day. I never used to wear sunscreen either, but now I typically wear 15 or 30 and still get a nice tan without the burn!

  7. Caroline says:

You totally took the best Barbie and ken!!! I ended up just being the talking animals. :) can’t for you to get up here!!!!

Random facts about me, well… This Wednesday *June 26* is my birthday… I am currently drinking a Strawberry Zevia right now (not my favorite flavor but still yummy)… And… Fire Alarms give me crazy anxiety, probably because the one in my apartment goes off A LOT and I never know if it’s a false alarm or not! GRRR!

    2) The Laughing Cow is amazing and I love their cinnamon cream flavor

  12. Haha! I used to boss my sister around too. She’s younger than me and always got stuck with the Ken with the sharpie mark on his chest :)

  13. Haha! I love reading your random facts. I teach 3rd grade, and I can definitely see the perks of montessori schooling for some kids. My poor husband burns anytime he walks outside too. I swear sometimes I think his cheeks get pink walking from the house to the car!

I think we are all definitely blessed beyond our imaginations. Have you ever read the book “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp? It’s a great book and really challenges you to see how blessed we truly are.

  14. yes Montessori definitely gave us the best foundation EVER! i def want our kids to get Montessori too!

  15. Also bossy/fitness instructor. :)

    3 Random Facts:

-I’m hypermobile (most noticeable in my elbows and shoulders). I always knew about my shoulders, but didn’t figure out my elbows were “not normal” until a couple months ago.
-I’ve had some of my photographs published in advertisements.
-The first time my picture was in the newspaper was the day I came home from the hospital. (No, I don’t know why I made headlines.)

  16. I’m more like your husband… I burn now. I used to tan when I was younger, but I was also in the sun a lot more! I remember everything… all kinds of random facts. The hubby says I have a freak brain. 😉
