6 Things You Don’t Know About Me

Hey friends!

Happy FRIDAY! :)

A few things I’ve read lately & wanted to share:

We’ve gotten ice cold weather, snow in heaps, an inversion (nasty air), and now icy rain. Yikes. Hoping we get clearer skies soon <–I am a sunny gal through and through.

Anyways, I am excited it’s the weekend! Boy do I need to a.) catch up on sleep and b.) declutter. And this is the weekend I do both!

All I have down on my calendar is teach Zumba (this morn), TJ’s trip (yay!!), date night with my husband, coaching 1 GRIT session, and church. Ahhhhh. Feels so good to have a pretty open slot to do whatever I want.

I’m gonna soak it up by de-cluttering, sleeping, reading and doing laundry. Funny how becoming an adult makes you EXCITED to do those things?!? Please tell me I’m not the only weirdo who sort of looks forward to some quiet time to do all that?

Annnnnnd I thought it’d be fun to do a little post on a Friday about a few things you (probably) don’t know about me!

6 Things You Don’t Know About Me

 1. I played Field Hockey & Lacrosse in High School and I attended ballet classes 4 nights per week and every Saturday.

Apparently I’ve always liked being busy?!?

{I played with my little sis–the one who is a nurse & just had a baby in December!!}

I love these memories of HS days though. I loved being active & involved. And I really loved it ALL–that’s why I did it all…..

Hmmmm. I sense a trend?

2. I have slight OCD.

I try hard not to care, but I like to only run the dishwasher once per week (on Thursdays), and I like to only do laundry on Saturdays (and I must have the baskets all totally empty for an entire day).

Yah. I’m a special breed. And yes, you can laugh now.

My husband helps me through these things though. Once he turned on the dishwasher on a Wednesday night, and I was like “noooooo!!! I was going to do that tomorrow!” HAHA. He stared at me in disbelief. And then hugged me & calmed me down.

I’m not really exaggerating.

3. I really am sort of an unkind person if I don’t get at least 7.5 hours (8 or 9 is better) of sleep per night.

Some of you might already know this (ahem, Jared, or sisters), but, well, just make sure I always get to sleep. Mmmkay?

Technically I am a super bubbly, outgoing, very talkative, energetic, fun person (at least I think I am), but slap me in a no-sleep situation & I kinda get a bit snappy. Ooopsies.

4. I’ve never been on a cruise nor have I been to Hawaii, but I have gone on an African safari. Go figure??

Seriously. What the heck kind of travel weirdo am I?

And these past few weeks–with the weather being nusto cold– I’ve been looking at pictures of Hawaii, beaches, and cruises.

I almost booked one the other day just because…..

It’s so freaking cold & ugly here!! Gahhhh.

But in all honesty, I want to go on a trip with my husband–just the two of us. We haven’t done a ‘real trip’ just the two of us since our honeymoon! (There have been lots of vacations with our families–sooo fun!!–& car trips, but none that are legit ‘just the two of us’ vacations).

5. I goober on my pillow while sleeping when I’m really tired. And sometimes I snore.

Yep. I am admitting this on the Internet….

It’s true–when I am in total deep sleep mode (which is most nights), I tend to leave some slobber behind. Gross, eh? And the other night my husband said I snored? I must’ve been real tired!

{the fated pillow…..that’s why I wash it every week. bahaha}

It makes sense though. I freaking woke up in the 4 o’clock hour to teach 4 days in a row. How do you people DO that every day?!

6. I am one of the best multi-taskers of all time. Hello multi-taskers anonymous.

Not something I am super proud of, but I am really good at doing two things at once……I’ll have to do a post about this….

And p.s. I never text while driving. Ever.

Have a great day!

What is something I don’t know about YOU??! Do YOU multi-task?? Are YOU a snorer or gooberer??

  1. I love you even more after reading this!!

I too have insane OCD about things….Jeff thinks it’s strange but he too just hugs me and calms me down when I have my freakout moments…He’s such a calm dude!

  2. lol! this is so funny about the dishwasher… my fam was just discussing this – steph said she ran the dishwasher everyday. i was like holy cow i don’t like running it more than once a week!! my older brother is the same way as me. we hashtagged #gogreen throughout our mass family texts haha

  3. I love that you just put the snoring/drooling thing on the internet…that’s too funny!

And I played field hockey in high school too! I did pretty much everything growing up (soccer, dance, figure skating, etc.) but field hockey stands out to me as my favourite.

  4. HA having a baby makes me do the laundry DAILY. not fun!

  5. omg that video was crazy! I can’t believe the ice! I also played field hockey in high school, but only freshman and sophomore year. At my school it’s tradition that seniors are automatically on varsity, and I knew I wouldn’t be good enough to actually play varsity, so I switched to golf rather than sit on the bench… but I loved golf team! And HOW COOL you went on an African safari!!!! I’d love to do that, beats Hawaii any day!

  6. Hahaha the dishwasher story cracked me up because I got to hear all about that last weekend. 😉 And yes to the sleep thing. I am like a different person if I don’t get a good amount of sleep. Eeek.

  7. Megan S. says:

I feel you on the OCD part! Mine is with scheduling and planning mostly– though I realized as I’ve gotten older I see why it’s easy to not want to get out of your routine..especially on the weekends when most of us have extra free time.

I also played field hockey in high school, and also played in college! I love the sport and coach now since I’ve graduated

  8. I have some of those same habits that I’m guess label me as slightly OCD, too! I like to think they are quirks that make me *special*. :)

  9. I’m definitely a little OCD too! Nothing majorly compulsive, but I like to do certain things a certain way, and keep things in a certain place or else it really stresses me out and makes me unhappy. We all have our quirks!

  10. Thanks for posting that article on pursuing your dreams. I can relate on wanting to do things only on certain days lol!!

  11. dude. that car pileup was crazy! and, word, it IS so gross here.

  12. Celeste says:

That ice was absolutely insane. I walked out of our apartment building and found myself promptly on my rear. Right next to my neighbor who was trying to get up.

Yay for really wacky UT weather.

  13. Haha, well as someone who has OCD, you are lucky you don’t have actual OCD. That was a major road block in my life to overcome hah. It was slight insanity now that I look back on those times! So I can completely relate to those weird traits. I still carry some of them, they’re just not as obsessive as they used to be. Haha, I love that you snore, that’s cool. I’m an insane sleeper, like I’ve woken up on the other side of the bed before, the floor, I guess I must move a lot in my sleep;) I had a post similar to this planned for tomorrow, twinning! Thanks for those articles! I love catching up on those ones I’ve missed!

  14. Amelia says:

I am with you on the sleep and being mean. Although my husband says that I just always look mean or mad no matter what. I think he just likes to get me fired up. But seriously, if I don’t get enough sleep you don’t want to be around me. I snap at EVERYTHING.

    Happy Friday! :)

  15. I love that you posted about drooling in your sleep, i might sometimes do that too! I am not OCD at all, sometimes I wish I was a little more so, the house would probably stay a lot cleaner!

  16. I had no idea you from Utah, I live in Southern Utah so thank goodness we didn’t experience those icy roads, but I’ve been seeing that exact picture floating all around on my facebook news feed yesterday! how funny!

  17. Where’s your dancing pictures? Ha! I’ve got the funniest costume pictures from my dancing days- I must post them on the blog someday :P…someday. Oh love your socks with thongs look in the hockey pics 😉

Hmmm something you don’t know about me? Dirty (or even clean), crumpled tissues, toilet paper, serviettes and paper gross me out. Even if it’s like not unhygienic or dirty I can’t stand it. Ughhhhhhh grosses me out even typing it!

  18. I am a little bit OCD too! My friend showed me a shirt the other day that said “CDO – It’s like OCD but the letters are alphabetical like they should be!” haha

  19. Danielle says:

HIGH larious post… omg. still laughing. for days. ok, i’ve never been on a cruise either! yet oddly i’ve been to new zealand for a summer and went on this weird drive-thru safari.. long story, lol.
no shame in the game, i’m totally OCD but love learning that i’m not alone. hahaha i love company over here in OCD world! i have certain cups that i drink out of and literally forget that i can actually drink out of another vessel. when i moved and couldn’t find my special “blue cup” i was like nooooo, but i’ll die! yeah, i’m way dramatic about nothing. and i am obsessed with my calendars, i have many of them and have my to-do lists all over the place. nothing makes me happier than checking off those boxes, sigh. and i’m also a member of Multitaskers Anonymous… in fact i’m doing it right now, heeeheee. love your posts, they are definitely a highlight of any day!

  20. Funny: A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

  1. […] you all think it’s awesome that I sorta drool when I sleep really deep. I’m glad we’re a bit closer […]
