Hey guys!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

Mine was quite fun, a bit stressful, totally delicious, and simply wonderful.

My mom sent me this (yay TJ’s sunflower seed butter!!) in a package with other goodies. Why is she so awesome?!?!

We ate a simple dinner up at a cabin in the mountains. {w.w. pasta, pesto, peppers, tuna, feta}

Watched Italian Job, and crashed.

My husband took a photo in the morning. Gorgeous!

I took photos too….

Yep. Priorities, people. {And yes, that lunge stance is a bit short. I analyze my own form too, ya know!}

I had been craving grilled cheese & tomato soup for like 2 weeks, so it finally happened.

{we added in turkey to the p28 bread, so this was filling!}

It was perfect for up at the cabin, though.

Plus some veggies, apples, and the simply bar protein chips shared with the hubs.

We later picked apples at a friend’s yard on the way home:

And those got turned into this:

Crockpot applesauce! Our house smelled delicious.

{Apples are a staple for us, and have special meaning in our marriage. We met under an apple tree, actually!}

On Sunday we gave talks at church, ate lunch with his parents, and then went to a friend’s house for homemade donuts with a side of cute face.

Isn’t my friend’s son adorable?! Holy moly. I almost ate him too.

Annnnnnd I’m lazy and the iPhone doesn’t always take quality eye pictures. Ahh well.

My friend is amazing & made those spudnuts herself! They were really good, and my husband and I had so much fun catching up with her & her husband, and meeting the cute lil’ guy.

Good weekend, ehh??

Weekends rock, but I’m not going to lie, I love the consistency of the week. Of workouts. Of teaching. Call me crazy, but I LOVE what I do, and I seriously enjoy my precious time I get at the gym and during my workouts.

Of course I’m not always super stoked to go bust a move in the gym, so when I am not feeling it, I like to repeat mantras, pull out quotes, and browse pinterest to get me that fitspiration I need.

As a FitMixer ambassador (go try their stuff! It’s amazing, for reals! I use it every day-aminos & protein powder.), I get to share with you a quote I’ve been loving to inspire me at the gym, and in return, at the end of the post, you get to enter to win FitMixer product for free!

Two favorites recently:

Love that! I enjoy working hard to overcome the tough stuff-in life & in my workouts.

Strength looks different on everyone, and that’s how it should be!

Discipline is huge when it comes to living a fit life. It goes hand in hand with consistency, so when those 2 are together, it’s magic.

Oh, and so is stepping outside your comfort zone. 😉

My all-time favorite mantra recently though?

Breathe, believe, and battle.

“‘Breathe, believe, and battle.’ My former coach, Troy Tanner, told us that before each match. Breathe—be in the moment. Believe—have faith that you can rise above it. Battle—you gotta be prepared to go for as long as it takes.”
Kerri Walsh, two-time beach volleyball Olympic gold medalist

(from Kerri Walsh’s coach)

I heard it during the olympics and have loved it ever since. It is posted on my computer to remind me–especially on days when I might not want to get my shoes on & get after it.

Now, YOUR chance to WIN!!!

**To win FITMIXER Product, go to this post & tell us what your favorite fitspiration mantra of late is!**

  5. I LOVE the second one you put up, I really need that right now. In a moment of weakness I need to think about the big picture and not just how I feel right then! Another favorite mantra of mine is “limitations only exist if you let them”

  6. What a fun weekend!! I absolutely LOVE that sunflower butter! It is my fav!!

  7. Marielle says:

    Oh my gosh, I live grilled cheese and with soup that sounds jut amazing! I think my biggest fit quite thR keeps me going is ‘you never know your limits, until you push yourself to them.” 5 years ago I would have never thought that I’d run a marathon, but I pushed myself and I did! :)

  8. Ok so tell me about this basement gym situation. Is this at home? What do you put on the floor and where did you get the mirror? I’m turning a part of our basement into “Fiterature Studios” and have SO many questions!!!!!!! :-)

    • This was at a cabin, and the gym part is in the basement. It’s kinda a part of the garage, but it’s in its own room off of the garage–if that makes sense? The floor is a cushy/strong type of ‘puzzle’ work. Hard to describe…it is black and not hard, but not cushy either. Have you ever seen those puzzle piece flooring? Kinda like rubber I think. The mirror covered just 1 of the walls. I liked it!

  9. Looks like a great way to spend the weekend…a cabin in the mountains huh? Sounds like a great way to spend some time in the fall!

  10. your hamstrings are smokin.

  11. I love grilled cheese, but I don’t know if I’ve ever had it with tomato soup… I had one with acorn squash soup last week though. Also I just made applesauce this weekend with golden delicious apples (is that what you used?) too! I can’t believe how sweet it turned out without even adding any sugar!

  12. Grilled cheese and tomato soup = pretty much the homiest, most comforting meal I know of!

  13. Karina says:

    My favorite mantra is “Just Keep Trying” – dont stop & try your best during every workout! Another one I like is “you can do anything for one minute/ you can do one more mile, etc” – breaking the workout up into smaller goals adds up:)

  14. If it doesn’t challenge you- it doesn’t change you! I use that one a lot in my classes.

    That photo in the morning is breath-taking! It looks too perfect to be real!
