Special K #TheProteinEffect

Hey friends! Happy weekend to us all. :)

First of all, a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sista!! October 20th always means it’s her day. Always.

{Fall 2007-we were roommate in college for 1 semester}

Best friends forever!

(She’s the sister who’s a nurse, ran a marathon with me, is 2 years younger than me, gorgeous, and 32 weeks pregnant right now!)

{Alaska cruise, 2009}

She’s amazing. I hope you have a great birthday, pretty lady!

This weekend is already awesome up in ‘hur.

We’re in the mountains, oh yessss. Full recap later though– I am off to enjoy it.

Special K #TheProteinEffect

But first, I have to share with you some snacks I’ve been smacking my lips around lately, thanks to Special K Protein and Kellogg’s people!

They have some tasty, protein foods and snacks out now, and they shared them with me this week.

How nice of them, eh?!

I received a box of goodies:

One of each of the bars & shakes were directly handed to the husband since I don’t ‘do’ banana bars or shakes. Or banana flavored anything.

But otherwise I was pretty pleased with the general idea of these products’ outsmarting my hunger.

Each bar and shake has 10 grams protein, and the cereal has 10 grams of protein too. Not too shabby, and definitely played to my full factor.

These taste like treats, but they do have #theproteineffect added in there, so it’s a great way to feel a bit more satisfied with a snack, without added calories or fat. Also, they’re super convenient to have on hand.

And this girl can’t be left alone without food.

For example, I ate a bar one night in the car, instead of waiting & then having to pull out ingredients to make a snack (which takes time & effort. And this is my hunger we’re talking about here.)

MUCH easier & faster that way.

And no husband was hurt in the process.

Thanks Kellogg’s Special K Protein, and FitFluential for making this happen!

To tune into the conversation about #theproteineffect and outsmarting hunger the ummm, smart way, we will have a Twitter party soon. I’ll keep you posted. :)

*FitFluential LLC compensated me for this Campaign. All opinions are my own.*

Have a GREAT weekend, lovely people!

  1. Not sure how I feel about Special K bars. I’ve tried them a couple times and always found them a bit too sweet for my taste. I prefer Kind, Luna, or Lara bars when in a jam. Of course even these are loaded with carbs so I usually travel with protein powder. Fun, right?

  2. Happy Birthday to your sis! Those protein bars and cereal look interesting, that would be great for a post workout breakfast with the added protein.

  3. Protein is always an excellent way to outsmart hunger! I haven’t tried many of Special K’s protein products mostly because of the cost. Other Special K cereals and bars I’ve tried I have enjoyed though, so I’m sure they are tasty!

  4. I haven’t tried these particular products but I have tried other special k products and the ingredients and nutritional info, wasn’t all that impressive. I can’t wait till these make it to Australia though :)

  5. awww, happy bday to the sis!! i’m not a big bar person in general and haven’t tried the special K ones…the thing with bars is they never really fill me up.

  6. Cereal with chocolate protein milk.. that’s what I’m talking about!!
    Happy birthday to your sis- you gals are so beautiful!! :)

  7. I am so with you on the reaction to bananas! I did really like the Special K cereal.
