Fall Into Recommitting

It’s officially the first day of Fall.

I am a Summer gal at heart, as most of you know, so this is a tad bit tough for me…….

But I am sort of looking forward to Fall.

Mr. Fall, just come in 1 more week, mmmmkay?! :)

To convince myself Fall is awesome no matter what day it comes, here are some of the things I am looking forward to:

  • pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup, pumpkin cookies, and pumpkin smoothies
  • Fall leaves changing colors all over the mountain range
  • apple crisps
  • apple/cinnamon candles
  • pumpkin carving
  • crisp air during walks
  • decorating sugar cookies
  • wearing boots, scarves, and sweaters
  • sweet potatoes in every meal. hah. 😉
  • hoodies. ‘Nuff said.



No matter what season is forthcoming, however, something that I love about the weather and seasons changing is the feeling of recommitting. The chance to start again and/or continue to reinforce whatever is on my plate.


My challenge to us all is to fall into recommitting ourselves to be stronger, fitter, healthier, and happier –in whatever ways that means for each of us individually. We’ve all got goals, ideas, and things going on, so let’s recommit to doing our personal best in each of those areas!

Always remember to be happy with what we have and who we are as we live in the moment & take strides forward.

    • Haha. Good point. I like the Winter, actually. I like snow & cold WHEN it has a purpose (i.e. pretty snow. But being cold for no reason blows.)

  4. I just bought a can of pumpkin yesterday…now to decide what to do with it. :-)

    I’m recommitting myself to strength training! Starting a new program on Monday.

  5. I’m too excited for Fall!! Its my favourite season! Although I’m with you on wishing the warmer weather can stay!
    I love this idea of recommitment, since I’m recommitting myself to getting my body back to its full potential of health!

  6. I love this post for many reasons! That main one being that I loooove fall (as you know), so I’m excited for all of the things you listed too. I also am starting to feel better and better as the days go on, so I’m looking forward to recommitting myself to a good fitness regimen. The last couple months have been tough when it comes to working out, and walks were pretty much the extent of my exercise. I have started to get in more sweaty workouts lately, and I am loving it!

  7. I love that scarf! Scarves are one of my favorite things about cooler weather, they can really dress up a simple shirt or sweater :). I do love Fall though, especially with pumpkin spice and apple flavors!

  8. Wow! I like that reminder, to recommit, yes most of the time we lose focus on things that matter, glad we can have a chance to recommit.

    Ohhh I love your Fall list!!!! Pumpkins pumpkins and more pumpkins! and cinnamon and my favorite thing of all: SCARVES!!!!! i wear scarves practically year-round like a weirdo so now I’m finally less-weird and have a good excuse to wear them, lol. Yay for soups and scarves!
