If Your Dreams Don’t Scare You…

Hey guys!!

Good morning :)

Yesterday I had such a good run (thank goodness!) and remembered why I love the treadmill so much. Some people think I am crazy, but I do enjoy a really tough treadmill session over a leisurely run in the park.

Weird-o.

Then last night’s BodyPUMP class was super fun. I love when they really get into it, and I can see it in their faces. 😉

And of course I hit up my favorite spot afterwards : the library.

Weird-o strikes again.

Ate some leftover turkey stuffed bell peppers (YUMM), read, and went to bed EARLY.

So, something else happened yesterday at work. I admittedly was checking out the race details (for newer readers, I am tackling a Half IronMan in August) during work. (Yes, guilty).

As I did so my heart started to race, sweat started to pool, and I felt a bit nauseous.

Yah, my mind played tricks on me and scared the crap out of me. I almost told my husband I was bagging it.

If Your Dreams Don’t Scare You…

Then I thought about all the amazing things that have happened to me because I jumped (literally) outside my comfort zone and went for things……and I talked myself out of scrapping the whole thing.

In reality people, if your dreams don’t scare you…….they aren’t big enough.

WORD.

Along with some other beautiful quotes, I’ll let you indulge in some much needed TLC with your heart and goals.

Remember, you’re the one who (along with God) gets to decide your destiny. So don’t leave it up for chance, find some dreams that SCARE YOU SILLY.

And……MY other big dream that is coming true in September?!?!?!

I will be attending AIM 2 for BodyPUMP in September!!

(BodyPUMP AIM 1 review here. AIM 2= A-Advanced I-Instructor M-Module training -level 2.)

This is a HUGE deal for me, because it means that I will get to learn more, improve my abilities, get trained by the top notch athletes in the industry, and possibly end up being ranked as an advanced OR even an elite instructor. (My huge dream is to be a trainer for Les Mills, but first you must achieve elite status).

To say I am scared silly is an understatement. But that’s why I KNOW this is right. :)

Dreams come true when you dream big, work hard, sweat lots, and set your heart and mind upon a sight that is just outside your reach, and reeeeeaaaaally outside your comfort zone.

I live what I preach, people.

This is happening, and I couldn’t be MORE excited!! You all know BodyPump means a lot to me, so this is pure joy (and intimidation) x 10000.

Thankful Thursday

  1. I am thankful I have a library card to a library that has such a good selection! I’ve lived in crappy-library situations. NO fun.
  2. I am super grateful for fresh berries. LOVE them!
  3. I am really thankful for sweat. It really is tears of happiness pouring out for being able to work hard. 😉

  4. My dream is to work as a freelancer, personal trainer and group fitness instructor. The thought of leaving my safe corporate job scares me – but someday I want to live my dream! So I have reached out to 2 different companies about freelance work, and have started taking steps to earn my certification.

  6. Love this. I definitely agree that when you aren’t feeling anxiety or a little fear because of your dreams you aren’t reaching for enough. Dreams aren’t supposed to be easy to access. You need to work hard for them! That just makes them so much more special when they come true!

Right now I’m just super excited for my marathon in October, but I think that’s more because the reality of HOW FAR it is hasn’t hit me, we’re still doing shorter training runs, although I have a half marathon this weekend! Another goal that scares me is that I decided to climb Pike’s Peak (in CO Springs) by myself in August! I have zero mountain hiking experience, but I want to do it, my dad doesn’t think it’s crazy (he hikes mountains every august with friends) so I’m going for it!

  10. I love this post. A dream that scares me is to write a book. I know I have one in me, I am just terrified that I will write it – and then what? What if no one buys it? What if its awful? What if I can’t finish it? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

    Today, I am thankful for water, my running group who motivated me to get up at 5:15 this morning when I reeeeeeally wanted to sleep in, and cottage cheese. Yum.

    I was scared to try Livefit Trainer – I’m very much a cardio person, so completely switching my focus to heavy lifting was very new to me! But – I’ve learned that my body appreciates a change up every now and again and I am loving the results so far. :-)
