Friday Fab Five

Hey friends! Happy FRIDAY :)

And it’s a loooooong weekend for those of us in the U.S! I am grateful for all those who have fought for our freedoms and rights. Thank YOU to our servicemen & women from the past, the now, and to those who will be serving. I am in awe of your dedication and sacrifice!!

It was a good week, my friends, but boy am I tired (teaching BodyPUMP x 4 will do that to ya). And ready to just relax for a few!

Friday Fab Five

{Because I love alliteration, I must explain the title…..This is where I tell you what is fabulous with my life on this glorious Friday. And you get to know more about me.}

1. It is fabulous to stretch, foam roll, and do yoga.  Yesterday, after 3 straight days of intense workouts + teaching (and with another two looming that day), I knew I would need to wake up and do some serious stretching, yoga, and foam rolling.

It felt amazing! My friends, if you need to slow down and do something good for yourself, do that. Make a date with a mat and a foam roller!

2. It is totally fabulous (and normal) to pull out a giant tub of whey protein powder for almost every snack….. I am beyond obsessed. It is now a NEED and a slight addiction. At least I admit it, right?!

{apples + cinnamon + choc whey protein microwaved. YUMM}

3. It is fabulous to just sit in bed with a funny movie or book. The past two nights I have just needed to take a few minutes before bed and relax with a humorous story line.

Wow, humor does good things for the soul (and the body)! I have been waking up a lot more happy each morning, that’s for sure!

For example:

Oh yes. You know that we all do it! 😉

4. It is fabulous to be doing what I love, and be able to (hopefully) make a difference in others’ lives. I am not going to lie, I have FINALLY found my niche and my true passions, and I couldn’t be happier! It took me 25+ years to do it, but I am grateful for all the hard ‘stuff’ that led me to where I am.

Being a coach, a trainer, an instructor, a blogger, and an ambassador (+ being a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend) are seriously my joys! I love all the different ‘hats’ I get to wear each and every day!

And yes, I do take pictures alone with a McDonald’s 1$ ice cream cone & no make-up. You gotta if you want to be a blogger 😉

And thank you for being supportive and actually reading it daily!!

5. It is fabulous to get 9 hours of sleep in a night and NOT have to use the bathroom. Yes, I have the bladder the size of a pea. (Pun intended. haha). There is not many a night that I don’t sleep totally through it. And yes, I have tried everything (I even don’t drink anything past 9 p.m.!!) So the other night when this happened, I yelled for joy in the morning! :)

{Luckily for me I have no problem getting back to sleep afterwards, it’s just annoying to interrupt that beauty slumber (or body recovery time!) to use the restroom. ANNOYING.}

As you can see, pretty fabulous stuff going on!

Quick Book Review- “Still Missing”

I read a book for Julie’s book club, entitled “Still Missing.” It is not a book for the weak, my friends! That is all I can say.

It was definitely a good read, and the writer did a nice job of capturing us, and pulling us in to the twisted ways of an abductor and his abductee, but it is not necessarily a story or a book I’d want to read again.

I did kind of like how the book flashed from present to past (her sessions with her therapist in the present contrasted with the days of her abduction–it was a year long), it made for a nice twist and allowed me to breathe.

I don’t love scary books or movies, but I do like a good mystery. However, this book is so ‘real’ that it really could’ve been a real story that might’ve happened to anyone, and that is what is scary and a bit unsettling. Plus, the abductee’s family is just crazy.

I guess I’d say that if you want to read it, do it (it’s a quick read), but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it -just because of the topic of it. I was scared for an entire night….but then I got over it.

And for a happy thought:

Have a GREAT Friday!! <3

(I am off to work, teach some Zumba, work, & then head to an uncle’s wedding reception!)

What are some of your FAB Friday things?? Did YOU read “Still Missing”?? Thoughts to it?? What are YOU doing this weekend??

  2. Here’s a fab Friday thing – it’s the Friday before a long weekend, and I’m getting out of work early. Woot! As for that ecard – that’s sooooo me, to the husband’s dismay. 😉

  3. My fab Friday thing is that fact that my husband will actually be off on Memorial Day for the first time in our marriage. We’ve already schedule some much needed family time for Monday. I am thinking there will be snuggling in bed with our little girl, cartoon watching, and a lazy breakfast!

  4. Love your positivity all the time!!! It’s infectious :D. I sooo wish I could sleep through the night without getting up to pee…that would be amazing! I’m shopping and spending time with family and friends this weekend! I hope you have a great one <3

  5. haha i also have a bladder the size of a pea! my husband says i have a “gerbil bladder” because i’m constantly having to pee. it’s a miracle if i don’t get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom… what a pain, right?!

  6. you are too funny…my bladder is terrible too, i drink A LOT of water during the day so i’m always back and forth to the bathroom!

  7. I can never sleep through the night without having to pee either. That must have felt so nice!

    I think I need a $1 cone !

  9. HAhahaha looove all your fab 5 items, espec #3 – I’m a big proponent of just lounging, reading, enjoying, especially with this nasty weather of late, and ESPECIALLY in my sweatpants :)

  10. krystal says:

    Very happy you have found the things that stir up passion inside you! I too feel so blessed to have discover red my passion for health and fitness and at such a young age too because most of my fellow 21 year old friends have no clue eh chart they want to do worth their lives!

  11. The book was definitely scary, but I really liked it! I actually read most of the book one night because I didn’t want to go to bed without finding out how it was resolved – I was too scared! haha. But I enjoyed it, which is weird because I hate scary movies!

    • I can definitely see that! One night to figure it all out–but what a crazy twist, right?! All I know is I am grateful for the awesome family I have, and I am always ‘staying safe’ in weird situations!! It opened my eyes, that is for sure.

  12. you are fabulous! have a great weekend!!

  13. Love this post! :) If I didn’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to go pee, I think my hubby would think I was dead. lol It is so annoying!

  14. That book totally does make you look over your shoulder a bit! And good point about Annie’s family…they were just as crazy as the entire situation! To be honest I often felt more compassion for her over her mom’s personality (and this is before I knew what she did) than over the abduction! And even how the mom thought she was “caring” for the dog!
