The Fitness Perks Lady’s Personality

Happy FRIDAY morning to you!!

Last night was tough, my friends. I taught Zumba and BodyPUMP back to back….whew! Luckily I like stepping outside my comfort zone and pushing myself (and others)! Needless to say I was stoked to gobble down a homemade turkey panini and some ice cream afterwards, shower, and crawl into bed!

The weekend is going to be beautiful around here, so I hope to spend a lot of it outside. Wahoo!

Today’s idea for a post came from Chelsey (and I know Ashley and Katie did it too), so cheers to getting to know the Fitness Perks lady a little bit more. 😉 I hope I don’t scare you off too much…..

10 Questions About The Fitness Perks Lady’s Personality

1. When a cashier in the checkout line at the grocery store is being a grump for no reason, how do you typically react?

Well, if I am in a grumpy mood too, I usually just complain about it to my husband afterwards. I know, so mature. If I am in a good mood, I refuse to let him/her ruin it, so I try and chat him/her up and wish ’em a happy day at the end! I am one of those annoying people who likes to talk to cashier people. :)

2. Are you the type that likes going out with your girlfriends or staying in?

Definitely both. If I am in the mood to go out, then yes, I LOVE it. I love to dance, eat good food, and have a generally good time. But I also love to just chat, make a dessert, and watch a chick flick with them too. Totally depends on the weekend! (Usually though I spend any extra minute I can with my husband!)

3. Do you sob and get emotional watching romance movies?

I am always emotional. Always. So yes. But sob, not really. I do cry in almost any movie that elicits some emotions (read: no action packed war-type movies).

4. What stresses you out the most?

Not having a plan. I don’t like it–it’s so hard for me! I am really working on it though, because not every second should be planned out. The most stressful thing right now? Not knowing what OUR semi-immediate future plan is…but that’s where faith comes in, I guess. :)

5. What do you think people think of you?

I hope they think I am kind, compassionate, and motivating, because that is how I feel I come off. The people who really know me really well know that I am talkative, outgoing, guillible, silly, nerdy, a homebody (I love my pajamas!), opinionated, spiritual, and that I love to give advice (and coach) and spit out random facts & pieces of information (read: semi nerdy).
6. When you overindulge do you hit the gym to burn it all off, or just accept the indulgence and follow your same routine?

When I struggled with my exercise addiction and anorexia, and then later with disordered eating, I totally went to the gym as punishment. I really started to hate the gym, but I felt a slave to it. Now, though, I LOVE the gym. It is where I can be me, where I can help others gain a healthy perspective, and where I can push my limits and get stronger!

I never see an indulgence as getting “off track” anymore, because that means that there is an “on track” and can elicit a diet mentality…which is generally unhealthy (especially for me). So I eat what I want, enjoy it, and move on. I love that! (Besides, now when I eat too much sugar, I don’t feel good at all!)

7. Are you easily annoyed?

Depends. With technology stuff, YES. With some of my own issues, sometimes. And if something is really out of my control, then I stop and think about it before reaching an annoyance level. With kids and other cute things, I don’t really ever get annoyed (unless they throw up on me. Yuck.)

8. What do you think is your biggest personality flaw?

Being a Type A personality. (But this can also be a strength!) Being a pretty good multi-tasker. And being quite inflexible (I like things my way and that fit into ‘my’ plan (read: see #4), hah!

{lucky guy gets to deal with a type A wife!}

9. What is one thing you don’t think people see enough of when it comes to your personality?

I am pretty outgoing and talkative, so I don’t really hide much! 😉 Hah. But in all seriousness, I don’t know if many people know how much of a nerd I really am, how much I love going to bed at like 9 p.m., and how goofy or silly I can be.

10. Can you feel relaxed in a busy crowd or messy room?

NO way. I also hate dirty dishes in the sink or on the counter. Our apartment never has ’em there–I won’t let that happen! Hah.

I can’t focus in a mess either! If my house is a mess (which it never is!) I couldn’t live in it. I would have to clean it ASAP

  2. that is DEFINITELY how you come off!! you are amazing!! i do accept the indulgence (hello birthday cake last night) but i do try and eat a bit more “clean” the days that follow so it says as just that …. an indulgence!

  4. loved this! can’t wait to hang out SOON! i always talk about how my husband has to put up with my “type a” personality too, but like you said, i definitely think there’s lots of good things that come out of type a personalities too. i know type b personalities statistically have less health problems because they don’t get stressed as easily, but they often don’t have the determination we type a-ers have! :)

  5. Thanks for sharing! Getting over the disordered eating must have been a challenge. Teaching Zumba then Body Pump is the fun kind of challenge! Way to go!
