Healthy Skin Care Routine

‘Tis the season to continue upping your game on the fitness front! How’s that going, by the way?! All I can say is DOMS is definitely a true thing. I think my sista feels the same way…..she came to two of my BodyPUMP classes within 48 hours. Such a champ!

A few readers have requested to know about my skin care routine and I am happy to oblige. This is definitely something that is part of a healthy life. Skin is made up of cells in your body–and YOU feed those cells. What you eat definitely ends up on your face–no doubt about it.

I am a person who believes in using plants and other ‘natural’ remedies as much as possible. As I’ve already mentioned before, I regularly use 100% cptg essential oils and have noticed a huge difference in my health, my skin, my hair, and my glow.

Not to mention my husband and I have not been sick for over 1.5 years! That is legit, my friends. The reason? These essential oils can penetrate the cell membrane–getting into the bacteria and viruses and ‘junk’ that is hiding there:

I am a firm believer that going natural as much as possible is the way to go. But this works for us!

There are 4 parts to my ‘regular’ skin care routine. I wash my face when I am in the shower in the a.m. after a sweat fest, after I teach in the evenings, and/or when I go to bed. Thus, I usually wash my face 2 times per day.

My skin is a combo type–meaning not too oily, but also not too dry, but I definitely have had my share of breakout years. I had great skin in my teenage years (wahoo) with only a zit or two per month……

….UNTIL I lived in Europe where I used public transportation, was around cigarette smoke a lot (blech!!), had hormonal issues, and ate not so great. The combination of it all made my skin totally freak out. For like 2 years. Yuck. I used everything possible from the supermarket shelves and informercials.

And I am not kidding. Tried everything. And nothing worked. Boo.

Then, as if an answer to a desperate prayer, I found these skin care products and immediately fell in love!

The routine I do (takes about 3-4 minutes):

  • Step 1: I cleanse my face (using either the facial cleanser, foaming cleanser, or facial scrub)
  • Step 2: I wipe my face down with the pore reducing toner (a drop on a cotton ball)
  • Step 3: I apply lavender 100% cptg essential oil on my face (about 1.5 drops)
  • Step 4: At night I apply some of the tightening serum near my eyes, forehead, and mouth <—reduces wrinkles!
  • Step 5: I apply the anti-aging moisturizer. This stuff is MY favorite!

My face has changed to being breakout mania to clear, bright, and wrinkle free. I have been completely blown away by how amazing my skin feels! Even my husband noticed how soft my skin is–(and that is from a guy who hardly notices if I get a haircut. Typical guy. Hah)

The downside to all of this? It is quite $$, but as I am an independent consultant for the company, I get the products at a reduced price–and even make some extra $ because of their awesome program (shameless plug: let me know if you want in/products!).

With that being said, although it is expensive, this stuff lasts SO long. I got the kit last November and I used it all until about September! That is about 100$-ish bucks for 10 or so months of skincare products. Yes it is more upfront then buying 6-7$ worth of face wash, lotion, zit remover, etc. every month, but it is SO worth it.

  3. Thanks for sharing your routine!! I am not really that picky about my skincare routine, but maybe I should be haha. I usually just wash my face with some kind of anti-acne cleanser or cetaphil and then I moisturize with a non-oily one that has sunscreen in it!

  4. I really need to work harder on skin care… I’m so lazy about it. I hate washing my face! Haha I don’t know why…
