Hey all! You have some fun vacation trips in your lifetime! Let’s all quit our jobs and travel the world, ok?!
But for real, we can keep our body of fitness that we’ve been working so hard for (or are working towards) anywhere. It is the truth.
In that same vein, we can also keep our healthy eating plans while traveling too!
Eating Healthy Plans….while traveling
Exhibit A
I did not know what all the food plans were for my work trip, so I brought healthy snacks for breaks (during training + conferences), and for eating in my hotel.
Yes I am obsessed with sunflower butter and even have it in small packs–and take them with me. Don’t judge
Exhibit B
While at the hotel, after my workout (I was plugged in with some great tunes!) in the hotel gym, I brought my sweaty self to the free breakfast buffet and grabbed some goods.
And then ate it while getting ready—I am classy like that
I also grabbed an un-pictured bowl of oatmeal….let’s just say I took one bite and threw it away (I forgot to add stuff to it. It was plain with nada on top–whoops! I need some nuts or Craisins or cinnamon!!)
Exhibit C
Did you know that you can make eating healthy plans before flying out and pack them in your carry on?! I did this (to save on time, money, and energy. hah), and was SO glad. I was so done with traveling and totally starving when I arrived at the hotel.
packed in my carry-on, and then:
The salad was a “wow factor salad” and the sandwich had :
- light laughing cow cheese
- hummus
- turkey
- spinach
- cucumbers
- all on whole wheat Great Harvest bread
Amazing.
Don’t forget dessert!
Got your guess??…..
It is:
- Graham crackers
- nutella
- sunflower seed butter (I told you I was obsessed, but it’s great nutrition!–I had to get another jar!)
<—ignore the greasy face/hair. K,thanks.
Exhibit D
You can also stick to eating healthy plans while at work functions too! Check it out:
This work dinner was catered (buffet style) so I filled my plate with veggies, with a side of rolled up chicken parmesan, and a roll.
It was great to fill up on those veggies!
To those who say living healthy and eating well a’int their thing, I say, “um, is good health, long life, and vitality your thing?” If so, hop on making healthy eating plans for wherever you go. If not, go ahead and die early (it’s a hard -but morbid-truth, I know.)
The tricks are: to always be prepared, and to never go TOO hungry. The whole time in the training/conferences I had a bag of almonds and an apple in case they didn’t feed us properly (they did this time, and I noshed on good stuff all day long!) I didn’t need the snacks, but if I had been tempted by horrible foods, I would’ve grabbed them and eaten them instead.
Don’t worry, ate my fill of chocolate too
Have a good one!!
What are YOUR eating healthy plans of attack for unexpected travel, business, meetings, or in restaurants??

If I know we are going out to eat, I check out the menu on the restaurants website so that way I make a smart choice in advance!
Hope you are enjoying your trip!
I love that you packed a few healthy grab and go snacks for your trip! I always carry a few Kellogg’s FiberPlus(R) bars or cereal snack baggies with me in case I get hungry in between meals – traveling or not. Its a great way to keep myself from overindulging on less nutritious options later on. Hope you continue to have fun on your traveling adventures!
My husband and I take a LOT of road trips and I’m all about packing my own meals & snacks–healthier and cheaper! win-win. ADORE your blog
