Anyone else love Mondays?! I sure do. What is your favorite part about Monday? I love that it is a new week, that you get a new start, and that you have the whole week to be better, reach your goals, and look forward to a whole week of greatness.

Did you know that your brain and your mind is the most important part of getting healthy? Once you decide to reach a goal, work out, or get out of bed on a Monday particularly, you’re training your mind to do hard things and accomplish amazing things. It just takes an idea, some hard work, and then you just have to watch the dividends come. I love motivating the members at my gym (because I teach fitness classes) and so I get to see those members work HARD at the gym….I get to as well, of course :)

I taught Pilates and BodyPUMP today and I was a sweaty beast after teaching :) I then ate a lunch similar to Friday’s lunch and got some awesome protein, whole grains, and yummy fats.

As I said, mind over muscle is RIGHT. You have a powerful 3 pound-ish brain inside your head. It is amazing what your mind can do! As a fitness instructor and as a person who has to motivate hundreds of others each week, I have to, actually I MUST, be able to work hard enough to motivate others. It can be very exhausting and super fun all at the same time. Any of you teach fitness classes? It can be somewhat hard to really motivate yourself on top of motivating the 30+ in the room to rock it out and feel the burn.

What has been the hardest thing you’ve ever done to reach a goal?

  1. I’ve recently started taking Pilates, and I am getting addicted. I was a dancer until I injured myself, and I’ve heard that Pilates was started as a rehabilitation for injured dancers. It is giving me much needed confidence and strength right now.

      Pilates is AH-mazing for the entire body, especially as you mentioned, rehabilitation for injuries. I would make sure you find a good instructor and a good class that teaches the correct technique and form. Glad to have you!
